Heres a good one, and I think some others would agree.

Different widths from x-narrow - x-wide. I have wide feet so Lavers kinda suck...The right size shoe makes all the difference.

I little off topic but..... Is this true? I don't have to feel like a total cheater for this. I can go back to hitting my Osis and ducking out of clippers with ease. I thought I was the only one that did this. Now that I know.... I will put the "cheat code" back on my shoes. FUN FUN!!

what like about footbag shoes:

lightweight
flexible shoe
support
grip
durability

toe box/clipper surface area

of course not all the mentionned can be done, durability and flexibility/lightweight conter each other. But in best of the worlds, there is level where everyone can be happy.

I don't care about price.

I am thankful for all the input over the past week. Everything is being considered. Every post is written down and all aspects of this shoe will be factored in. We are working on a mod free shoe. I know this will not please everyone, but our hopes are to please most of you. Like 99% of freestylers and avid players. Hope this helps, Richard Abshire

please do not make them laver rip-offs. The options of lavers, nastases, quantums, g-units, and dunbars already exist without being greatly different. Please consider the NB CT-300/500's and climacool's in your designs.

p.s. i think these are pretty much them. If you could mass produce them...

I have played in all major shoes to some degree, Lavers and Units at least 2 years on each. Here are my thoughts.

Inside: I like the unit inside. People say shit about it being too easy but it really doesn't matter to me. I've seen varying degrees of slope on the unit and the slope on mine isn't that crazy at all. Really though, anything thats flat with just a couple degrees upward is fine for me. The quantum inside is pretty close to perfect, but a little more concave would be great.

Material: I like the unit inside surface the best. Its really thin canvas, hella grippy and durable (at least for me). I like mesh, but its pretty slippery. I think thin canvas is the best. You get the feel of mesh with the grip of other surfaces.

Profile: I like the streamlined vibe of the climacool and how close it fits on your foot. Makes for super quick dexes and really efficent movements. I also like the look of the skate shoe g unit though. The laver for me doesn't look cool anymore, only in rare circumstances.

Toe box: the laver toe box is pretty much perfect for me. I dont mind the walls at all, but most people would probably want them a little smaller and set farther back like the quantum. The quantum toe box is really bad though, so try to avoid the bubble that that shoe is plagued by.

Support: This is important. The thick g unit sole is great for impact and really makes my sessions longer I feel. The climacool also felt really good to play in, but the running shoe sole compressed way too quickly over time. An air bag in the heel (like a skate shoe) would be amazing.

Sole: The sole needs to be the gunit grip. Nothing beats it.

Weight: As low as you can go.

Colors: Black and whatever else.

Really I would just be happy if you remade the gunit so I could feel like I was supporting footbag instead of 50 Cent's Vitamin Water habit.

i love the feel of skate shoes, I think theyre really comfortable...

If you can make the inside feel like a skate shoe, but still have a really thin canvas or mesh layer, that would be PERFECT :D

just an extra thought

alright, im done asking questions, heres my serious input richie.

i would definitely agree with a toe box with slightly drawn back toe walls, and thinner like quantums. laver walls are forward and stiff as anything, so walls with freedom without having to cut them off would be nice.

full shoe size range from like 6 to 14 would be great right away, although i dont know if thats possible. it was really frustrating for me to have to watch two versions of quantums go by before they had a 13, and even now i dont know if i can fit into that. i think it would be asking way too much to make narrow/wide sizes however.

i would love to see the navy blue/ maroon red colors of the old lavers as i said before. also, i think a golden yellow or a forest green could be cool also. although all black can look nice, i would love an all white shoe, or a shoe with a white sole and a colorful top. basically, light, bright colors would appeal to me.

i defintiely want a normal inside surface like a laver/unit/quantum. the clima inside just is too much of a cup really, and having to goo it would be a hassle. the lightweight fell of the clima and huge toe box is great, but thats the only advantage i see. the worst parrto f a clima for me is how it puts you on your toes.... although this is technically great for proper footwork, it makes me lean forward to much and EVEN taller. i think the flatness of the other shoes is preferable.

i dont know why everyone is asking for free 12 panels/dvds/footbags with the shoe.... thats totally not a legitimate request if you ask me. sure, these are footbag shoes..... but why should they be responsible for supplying us with all equipment at once? shoes are enough.

i think price range should be 50-80 dollars max. as long as it lasts for right around a pair a year.

although a shoe different than lavers/units/quantums would be great for variety's sake.... they have attributes that are great for footbag, so i wouldnt mind at all if it looked similar. that would be another advantage of having color combos not seen in other footbag shoes.

thanks richie, i really hope you make something great.

perhaps under the metatarsals as opposed to the heel. the reason it's in the heel of running shoes is that the heel is the first point of contact and takes the brunt of the impact as the rest of the foot rolls forward into contact with the ground. It would be impractical for footbag as no one lands heel first, but under the metatarsals would be fantastic if it wouldn't affect the inside surface.

agreed to the second part. One of the main reasons why i never bought units.

double post.

because the 1000 freestylers in the world that would potentially buy this shoe are not enough to really warrant it being kept around for more than one production run. If it is to be sold commercially to the public at large, providing them with an instructional dv, or free bag is a good way to promote the sport and give the shoe a reason to exist beyond the 1000 people who will buy 1 pair every year or so.

Cale, because the Quantum shoe production line is governed under planetfootbag, which is funded and supported by the community and only the community. Being that it is funded and supported only by the community, the shoe is inevitably targeted toward the community as well. This means that the shoe is generated to have the specific purpose (footbag) toward footbaggers, but not toward the generalized public.

The general public will just see the Quantum shoe as a very comfortable and light shoe, but seeing it having a purpose for footbag would be a long stretch in a way. By providing a 12-panel freestyle footbag along with an instructional DVD, the public will understand what the product is typically used for, and won't have to fuss over getting what is necessary to play the sport of footbag since the adequate equipment is already provided.

Without the fundamental items to express the sport of footbag in one package, there will be a lot of misconceptions. Examples include that people buying the Quantum shoe can just wear it for style and not for footbag, a hacker buying an advanced freestyle 32-panel will just use it for kicks and nothing more, and DVs featuring footbag will be bought by people that like fancy footwork but are not properly immersed into footbag acculturization. It is typically enlightening the public of the purpose of footbag and spreading the sport. Having one jumbo pack will enlighten the public that footbag is a sport, and they have the convenience of aquiring all of the necessities/requirements of the sport in one purchase.

considering the quantum is only available through pf stores and freedom footbags, i think everyone would get its a footbag shoe. how would you "stumble" across a quantum and think its for anything but footbag when there are pictures of footbags an the word "footbag" all over the only sites they are sold on, not to mention in both website's url itself? its not like they are sitting in a ross or payless, and something says "oh, this would be good for bowling" becasue there wasnt a footbag with it.

i still say its too much to ask of richie to include extra things with the shoes.

Has anyone ever had merrel hiking shoes? I just got a pair, and the way that they are designed; whether it is the insoles or the sole of the shoe; makes it harder to role your ankel than in a regular shoe. I dont really know how it works, but if that could be worked into a footbag shoe, that would be really cool, as long as it didnt hinder performance.

I love the g unit, but the laver toe is preferred. Additionally, the g units have no slit in the tounge so that it stays in place (resulting in it always scrunching down). These would be my only two suggestions.
