CONTEST: Play footbag with Ken the week of Worlds!

Post by C-Fan »

Who: Me. You. Your club.

What: I have a "free" airline ticket to anywhere in the continental US, and I have a week off between jobs. If you can give me crash space for a few days and want to play footbag with me, make a post in this thread convincing me why I should come to your town.

When: In a cruel twist of fate, it turns out that I am free... the week of Worlds!?!? Damn. While its too late for me or you to go to Worlds, you can consider this a consolation prize. Pretty much anytime from August 9th to the 17th I can come visit, but you (or your club) would have to agree to give me crash space for at least 2 nights. I'm not making a trip for only 2 days.

Where: Contest is open to anybody in the continental US. I've checked, and my ticket doesn't fly to San Fran or Phoenix, but it does fly to places like Chicago and Montreal. I'm not even against doing Texas in August. Keep in mind my ticket may not allow me to go anywhere, but the only way I'll try is if you make a bid.

Why: Why not?

I want to buy my ticket in the next week, so if you are somewhat free the week of August 10-17, you want to play footbag with me, and you can give me crash space, post here.

Good luck to us all! :)

I don't have shit to do this summer.

Downtown Kansas City is a pretty cool place, and my mom lives like... 20 minutes away from it.

It's only me here though. You should probably choose Montreal or Chicago.

I tried not to say it, but Brian beat me to it. So much for the humble "ask in person" approach.

Hmm if he chooses Montreal I may also try to come! I've been hoping to go again this summer. Sux that Ianek & Seb won't be around but my main drives to go were Nick, James & Kristina anyway. ;)

UPDATE: I checked, and I sadly cannot fly to Boise. Kansas City and Montreal are totally do-able though. Any other bids? Chicago? I'm looking at you Chicago.

You should come to Saratoga. You can play with me and Will Digges everyday. There's good food downtown, and I have a spare room, so you'd have a bed for the whole time you're here.

I vote that you scrounge and fly to Prague.
There will be a pretty big club out that way around your week off.

When's the last time you visited Chicago?

There's a pretty good freestyle scene, made up of the FCFC, the CIC, Scott Davidson, Josh and I. Nearby we've got the FTB (Reid Strellner and Eric Siegel) Zach Jahner, Henry G, and Gmoney (if you guys are reading this back me up) . If you don't mind some midwest trashtalk and smog then book your ticket to O'hare.

Montreal's scene is WICKED, you know that Ken! Remember TAM TAM?!

Even without Ianek & Sebastien & Mathieu, there are still a bunch of sweet players and a million more Mathieus! And they are all gettin awesome! It was nice to see such a fresh new scene starting there too, even some girls it seemed.

I will try to come anyway, I was pretty cheesed that my injury prevented me from shredding there last time.

TAM TAM + FOUFOUNS ELECTRIQUE + SUPA FUN SHREDMASTAS = MONTRRRRRAY'ALL!

God Zeke, I thought we were gonna wait until the Mayor's Office of Special Events got back to us...

I can put you up for additional days during the week, Ken. You're more than welcome & I'd be happy to have you. But I wanted to know if you'd be cool with the following if you stayed at my apartment:

You could sleep on an air mattress. I'd be at work during the day, and there isn't anything to do at my apartment, though you're more than welcome to hang out there and look at my Magic cards while I'm gone if you feel like it. I'm not really comfortable with having like a group of people there while I'm not there, exception being strange women. One other thing - I don't drink but I don't mind if people drink at my apartment, on the condition that they don't leave any booze in my apartment. It's most definitely not a crazy party at my house.

I could give you a spare key as well so you wouldn't have to rely on my being around to go out and do stuff.

A few of us will be at work during weekdays, so that could be kind of boring. I can't really speak for who would be around during the day, but you'd probably be able to get some peeps together to kick or do stuff during the afternoon.

What do you think?

Montreal and Chicago are my top contenders now. Zac, you'll have to up the ante somehow to remain competitive. I'll have an answer by early next week, if not sooner.
