I would definitely move to Sydney. The weather in Melbourne isn't really that nice.

hey Boyle, I too would pick Sydney as my number one choice. However, there is a small chance that I may go to Melbourne. This is beyond my control and I'll know in a couple of weeks.

Footbag: I had a quick 1-hour session yesterday. Didn't hit anything outstanding though.. blur > quantum lo and a couple of blurry drifter > sidewalk and stuff... I was really just sweating off the tiring week-end I had: I played a round of (real) golf in Normandy this w.e.! It was epic. I didn't actually play well, nor score well but the course was beautiful and I was playing with 2 good friends so that rocked! It was so good in fact we're heading back there in 2 weeks for around on Saturday and a small stableford competition on Sunday with BBQs filling in the gaps in the evenings

I'll have to post some photos of that!

you'd be surprised! First of all I hadn't actually played golf in ages. Secondly the course was quite hilly so there's a lot of ups and downs. Finally well I guess we walked about 10ks lugging heavy bags along under a scorching sun

Oh and then there's the 19th hole so to speak... where we proceed to drink beers for the next 5 hours talking about the past 4h we just spent playing our round

I now have my plane tickets taking me from London to Sydney on Tuesday the 16th of September! Hurrah!

I still have a billion loose-ends to tie up (MBA applications, Skilled Migration Visa applications, apartment and utility bills to close, work, people to say goodbye to etc.) but things are moving ahead swiftly

I am THRILLED!

Some footbag news: getting close to vortex swirl, blurry grifter (royale with cheese?) and tried a couple of blurry barroques

haha not close but mybe one day who knows?

ok super quick write-up of Euros:

loads of net players were there.. not so many freestyle players though: I think there were something close to 20 players in open routines.

The event site for finals was cool as it was smack in the middle of Montpellier's main plaza. This attracted loads of public.

So for the results (as far as I recall):

Routines:
1) Vasek: dropless
2) Damian Gielnecki: 1 drop
3) Honza: 3 drops

Circle:
1) Honza
2) Sergey Kozlov
3) Milan Benda
4) Sebastien Duschennes

Circle was awesome. Great crowd, great players. Honza and Sergey dominated with some very long varied and very difficult runs. The crowd ate it up.

Sorry for butchering the spelling of all names here.

30s shred:
1) Honza (205ish)
2) Jakob Wagner (193 ish)
3) Damian Gielnecki (193 ish also)

Doubles:
1) Vasek and Honza
2) don't know

Sideline shred: Anz put on a show by hitting request sessions for hours on end both on Friday and finals night (Saturday) hitting crazy combos and tricks. His endurance knows no bounds and he has no flipside.

Vasek? I don't think I saw him play other than during routines and short demo for the crowd on finals night. However I did see him play with a soccer ball very often. He's getting very good. hitting stuff like double spinning clipper, infinity x2, ripwalk, symp whirls, symp. whirling swirl, ducks, dives, ripstein, wraps, paradons etc.. very impressive skills!

Thanks for the Euros update. In order to embed youtube vids on modified, you have to take out the country code. So take out the "fr" from the youtube link and it should embed.

Oh, and DSC with a soccer ball is nuts.

It also struck me as strange that Shred 30 scores have stayed around the same level they have for the last 3 years. I remember at 2005 Worlds in the first 2 rounds there were a bunch of people (like 7) over 200 in the first 2 rounds. I would have expected people to consistently crack 200 by now, if they practice.

Cheers Dyalan! I'm not quite sure what time I arrive nor do I actually know where I'm going to tell you the truth! I have a couple of contacts that can put me up for several weeks, but I'm sure I'll straighten out the loose ends as I get closer to departure date. I'll def. keep you posted. haha sweet I've got Sebastien Duschene over at my house. He's been there for a couple of days but I was in France. Anyway, the Belgian footbaggers took care of him, took him out, showed Brussels etc. took him to demos and I had a short one hour session today during my lunch break.

So Seb is off the hook as some of you may have seen from the EC videos. I asked to see some of his signature stuff, and his chainsaw massacre (bubba ps egg) is mind-boggling. Oh yeah he also hits flurries like they were just mirages...

Ok 14 more days of work and I'm done!

Ok well this is my last day at the office. I have a bottle of champagne in the fridge here which I'll open in 45 minutes

Friends are flocking to my place tonight in an attempt to get rid of most of my stuff (that I will not be taking with me to Australia) including my well-stocked bar!

Quite some parties are lined up for my last week-end in Brussels including visiting two world-famous beer-brewing abbeys: Leffe and Maredsous. I had to check out a beer making abbey before leaving Belgium!

It's a strange feeling not having a job to look forward to (it has not happened often for me in the past). My MBA applications have been sent and I should be getting the results next week. My Visa applications are on track and in a month more or less I'll be in Sydney!

Oh yeah, have been playing a bit of footbag also. Nothing uber special but I did hit some new links:
