hahahahahaha! I guess us girls should have known that this is what this thread would have turned into with you guys.
But that Mythbusters clip is HILARIOUS!
I am not about to talk about Sex & the City and the reasons I detest it, but hey, if you really wanna defend it, start a new topic and I'll chime in for sure.
Jon—I know I said everyone sucks, but of course they are all GREAT, too. Everyone has positives AND negatives; you can’t have one without the other. And hopefully the positives outweigh the negatives. They usually do.
Well Eric, what do you say to that? You do like waffles, don't you?

It's even got an awkward sounding name: Sex AND the City. It should be "Sex In the City", makes more sense. The show is rarely about "The City" it's just about their lame dating lives, and idk, do women really act like that? Samantha's character was cool though, she was the only thing that made the show tolerable to watch. I caught like maybe 2 episodes of that show tops.
I also hate Seinfeld too, AND Friends, so it's definitely me lol.

I think it's really sad that several girls have described girls in general so negatively. Yes, the "normal" girls I see walking around the mall or sitting in a bar may seem ditsy, but I'm in a MALL or a BAR. If I went to a place where people were hiking around or river rafting or something, I feel like it's more likely that I would find those women interesting and worth knowing.

Weird. I thought you were interesting until we hung out in the hotel room, when I realized how ditsy you are. It's funny how those things work.Laroche wrote:Normally she's quite ditsy indeed, but she seemed sort of interesting when I crashed in her hotel room at NYJ 08!

No, I think it's very refreshing for women to discuss negative things they notice amongst their gender. I can't tell you how much I hate when women defend their entire gender at the drop of a hat.
I've met, know, plenty of jerk guys out there. I also know the general faults that tend to occur amongst genders. It's a pretty well-known phenomenon that a lot of guys don't like to settle down, and are afraid of commitment. Do I all of a sudden feel the need to defend them at all costs argumentatively? No, I accept that this is a pretty popular notion and move on.
Women with undesirable behavior or habits don't only exist in malls and bars either.

This is really a lame topic to be honest, it was about dating in footbag not, how must can we grossly stereotype women.
I am sorry, but out of all my female friends, sure they like shopping but its not always on their mind. Believe it or not a lot of women are people to! You know they do "those" things like hang out with people? These stereotypes that I am seeing are mainly from the Hollywood kind of thing. When I hear what you people are saying I think of "Clueless" or something like those teeny boppers movies
Nick put it best so far "Don't judge a book by its cover" Are you honestly going to say "Look at that girl she's walking in a mall probably a ditzy girl who I don't want to know" or "Look at that girl in the bar, she's probably an ass" Where the hell does this stuff come from?!
Women are can be as good at footbag as much as they want. They whole post of this being a frustrating sport and that "dudes" are more adapt at handling it
really made me go "WHAT?!"
Sorry this post went everywhere in every direction.
One last note, say hi to someone sometime in the mall (I usually just people watch) You'll be shocked to see that being a fucking bigot really doesn't get you out there to meet new people. You'll find out that odds are women can actually be friendly and INTERESTING. Because as I find out through my infinite wisdom they DO NOT like to just talk about shoes, makeup, boy bands, mall, dresses, etc, etc. -insert whatever stereotype you want-
OK I think I am done
, and once again sorry if this post jumps around just typing as I go!
Cheers,

So since I started it I feel I should bring this post back to it's original idea a little bit....
at least to stereotypes.
So I know this makes me a horrible low-self esteem sort of person, but thats honestly not how i feel, and anyways you could look at it like this:
I'm fine with guys thinking most women are stereotypical and ditsy, so that when he meets one that isn't he appreciates her more.
also i like where the post has gone, off topic as it may be, because it's fun and i am satisfied with the answers i got for the question, although i would always like to hear what everyone has to say.
