MP3 Player Advice

Hey,

Lost my Ipod and am looking for something with these requirements:

- around $100
- fairly little
- 4 - 8 gb of space
- good battery life

If you currently have a player that meets this and are happy with it please suggest it! Really want to know before I blow cash. If anyone has the new Nano let me know how that is too, I had an older version and it was good, just looking to maybe try something new and get away from the ipod battery life issues ive had.

I won't recommend you one, but you aren't going to want an mp3 player with a HD if you use it for footbag...

Umm.. jrstubs, what exactly is High Definition MP3 player?

HD has nothing to do with listening to music.

And I strongly recommend iPod Nano.

I had a shuffle that I used for snowboarding / lifting but it ran out of battery life and died after a year or two. I am going to get another but I don't think it fulfills your size requirement

He was talking about mp3 players with hard drives.

and I would recommend the new Ipod nano as well; my little brother has one and it works quite well.

Hey, David!

Sorry to hear about your iPod loss.

I've been using Cowon iAudio F2 and extremely satisfied with the product for the reasons below:

-Sound quality. It beats iPod. I can't back this up with facts, but that's the opinion of most audiophiles. F2 also plays FLAC.

-No software required. Copy > Paste for any data type.

-You can delete songs/files/folders on the run. (Unlike most people, I find this feature to be very useful)

-Excellent battery life and powerful sound output. I own thee iAudio F2 (long story, don't ask me why) and the one that I've had for longest, still lasts *at least* 8 hours till next time I charge it. Sound volume can go up as high as 40/40, but somewhere around 30/50 will make your eardrums explode.

-Cheap. It comes in 2GB and 4GB versions. I think the 2GB one is around $100 US.

-Comes in a very nice package. I usually attach the mini usb cable to my keys which allows me to take my music/files to wherever I go.

-It doesn't break unless you drop it.

What you might NOT like is navigation. It will be tough in the beginning, but you will get used to it.

my brother just got me one of these for my bday (not sure if this is the exact model). I have yet to use it but it seems to fit your needs and it is affordable. I will write up a review after I get home and use it.

Yes, Cowon iAudios are excellent. I had the x5 (now discontinued), and it was the best thing I ever bought. http://www.jetmall.net

If you want something easy to use, inexpensive, easy to find at a store ... then I recommend a Sansa Fuze.
It comes in 2gb, 4gb, and 8gb flavors ... 79.99-99.99-129.99 respectively.
Whats really cool about them is that they also have expandable memory slots where you can put in micro sd cards for added memory.
the 2gb version comes in black
the 4gb version comes in pink, blue, and red
the 8gb version comes in silver
they can be found at pretty much any best buy or circuit city. (if you like purchasing at a store rather than an online shop ... the cowon mp3 players are a bit harder to find in stores.
no programs needed ... just copy and paste like with the cowon
small in size ... pretty much the same form factor as an ipod nano
plays videos, music, pictures, and fm radio
has a built in voice recorder that you can use during lectures
flash memory ... meaning no moving parts inside
sansa is a sandisk company ... and sandisk is known for making great flash memory
you can probably find it at like amazon for cheaper then at a best buy or circuit city
