How do you capture sessions or whatever and then edit the videos?

I don't think there is a topic for this, so I thought I'd see if any of you have a better method than I. Right now, I turn my camera on once I am warmed up and turn it off when I take a real break. When I go to edit my videos, I hate that I have to sit there through the whole thing pretty much to edit out not only the bad strings but all of the downtime of me catching my breath and stuff.

I think I noticed that Ken and Erik (?) turn their cameras on and off for each string. That's a good idea, but it seems annoying for me to do that especially at my level of short strings.

I might try to turn my camera on and off for each type of focus so that I have a better idea of what to look for in each clip, but I am just looking for a more efficient way to capture and edit videos.

Yay, I'm glad I get to share my little trick with someone.

Well, When I'm editing I hate sitting through it too so what I do is...

When I hit something i like, i keep the camera recording, walk up to it, wave a few times in front of it, and then just go on footbagging and when I do something I think I want in the video again I just do the same thing. So then when Im editing I just hold down fast forward and when I see my hand go in front of the camera, I know I've hit something I wanted in the video. It makes things so much faster.

I wouldn't call it your or my trick (since I've seen plenty of footbaggers/skaters/bmxers/etc. do it) but it's definitely the trick!

It's MY trick, I invented it back in the 60's before Stahlburger could do a stallburgher.

If you practice, one day there will be no bad footage.

Seriously, I have seen people use the "hand in front of the camera method" on several videos, especially Clavens videos.

So, when you bust a good string, walk up to the camera and hold your hand open in front of the lens for a few moments.
