cunt is a vulgar word. but is it not the same as calling someone a dick? maybe cunt sounds worse because it makes a vagina sound dirty (the word vagina itself makes the female reproductive organs sound nasty). the fact of the matter is that a woman's pussy/vagina/cunt is actually the coolest part about our bodies. so since vaginas are awesome shouldnt calling someone a cunt mean they are super rad? same thing goes for men and dicks. dicks are great! shouldnt calling someone a dick be a positive thing?

i suppose not everyone will agree with me... but arent cunts and dicks good things?

Just wanted to say as a girl, that I think Jon has an interesting idea as well, but I think he's on the right track.

In response to the topic itself, I don't like being called a cunt either, and I know it has a little bit to do with the fact that my mother always told me is was the worst term to be called and not to put up with it. Among other things.

Have you ever been upset by something someone said when you were fighting with them? Or have your feelings ever been hurt by something someone said? You shouldn't let that happen, they are just words.

Would you also be in support of teaching the words fuck, nigger, cunt, prick, and jack-off to little kids? They are just words, it's not like there is any power or real meaning behind them.

It's really easy to say that people shouldn't be offended at something that doesn't offend you. And you're right, words don't have power when they're not given power, but the fact is that if someone called me a cunt I know that they're meaning to offend me as much as they possibly can.

P.S. I love it when white men say that people shouldn't take offense to racial or sexual slurs.
