I'm going to see if I can stay for longer, But I'll check with work and school.

But yeah we'll have to have a huge party for all the birthdays, even like early birthday party for Manna, Bryin, and Erik.

Just remember what Andrew said, that everyone will be staying with people and their parents, so all this partying is going to need a place to happen.

Mr Lopes. I am not doing too bad myself. Maybe we could go in on a hotel for teh weekend so that drunkards can crash with us. Let me know and then we can figure out which hotel and who makes the booking and how we would go splits.

I love partying too. But we must repect peoples homes. Last year, Erik was cool enough to let me go back to his plaec even though I was pretty sauced.

Anyone else want in on a hotel?

lol wow, edited it... I must be on crack.

Of course everyone should respect people's homes. I'm not ever assuming that we're partying at anyone's house... I'm pretty sure we'll be partying at the finals venue Saturday night. If there was a hotel room that people could after-party at, that would be super cool too.

I'm also a big fan of wandering the streets late a night and hanging out in parks and such.. ha. But I guess that really depends on how many of us there are and how rowdy we are... and how sketchy the "Thunder Dome" is at night... Are the cops in Winnipeg anal and abundant?

Manna was sweet enough to suggest that I bring my board so we can go riding late at night, but I'm pretty sure I'll be too hammered to ride haha. Plus bringing a board on board (lol) is too much of a hassle. Anyone in Winnipeg have an extra skateboard to lend me so I can break my face at 5 a.m.? haha. For real though, I am SO down with riding on one of the nights I'm relatively sober... I'm hoping for Friday.

i'm totally down for wandering the streets/hanging out in parks. don't do it enough 'round my parts, and it doing it in places you've never been before is even more awesome.

i'd totally be down for staying til wednesday, but of course only if it's ok with whoever i'm staying with and the forces that be.

and september is the coolest month to have a birthday in. its in the geneva convention.

Hey Camille. i wasn't trying to single you out, it was just all the excitement around bdays. Sorry if seemed I was directing anything at anyone in particular. I am really excited too and want to stretch out my legs and have some brew and what not.

We partied at a mansion last year, it was awesome. Erik stayed sober and drove us back home. Super nice guy.

I like to wander, but the Thunder Dome may be not as bad as it is perceived to be.

Sorry again, if anyone thought I was singling them out. Except Mr. Lopes. We should get a hotel or something.

I don't think I would be too rowdy with a beer in hand late at night. Maybe a roach though, if you know what I mean.

But I'll see what I can do in the drinking department; being half-conscious on the streets of Winnipeg is very tempting for me, especially during Hackrifice.

And yeah, I think I'll be arriving on the 19th in the afternoon and leaving Monday morning on the 22nd.

Also, I'm down with crashing at people's homes. If I'm going to go crazy, I would prefer not to do it at a place with concerned parents.

Just a thought, but how many bags should I make for this tourney? It would help me budget my trip a whole lot better, and I'm the type of person that doesn't plan well on how many bags I should bring to any one tournament for sale.

Hey Waylon please make the 2 bags I asked for! I wanted a 12 panel and a rainbow 32.

There is going to be quite a few stitchers in Winnipeg! Erik, Waylon, Johnny, me and I am not too sure who else. Wow. I may only bring a donation bag and a couple for sale or trade.

Also, I am bringing some amaretta for Erik and a couple tiny inuksuks for him and his dad. I may also bring some caribou jerkey if anyone is interested in trying it out. I was thinking raw caribou and arctic char, but I am not too sure that anyone besides me would like it.

I can't wait. Sept in the south is probably hotter than it is here all summer.

Oh, and I will be bringing my new camera. I got the JVC everio g. 60 G hdd. I just got it yesterday. I can't wait. I need to learn how to edit and stuff.

Oh yes, I will do just that Andrew. My mind slips when it comes to orders, hehe. ;;>_>

... I guess that makes 7 bags for me to sew. I plan on making a set of bags of four for four people. Hopefully they are close enough together to warrant frequent play. It's based off on a popular cartoon show, and the patterns are just simply soccerball patterns.

Well it is settled then. I will bring some caribou jerkey and a frozen arctic char. That is how you are supposed to eat it. Some people like it with a little salt and some use soy sauce.

I have a few in the freezer. If it is not all eaten raw, it is super good cooked too.

But if you eat it raw, you will then be an Eskimo (Raw meat eater)

This will be a sick tournament.

Lets get going on a hotel, Im totally cool with having people come and hanging at the hotel room I am staying at. Im hoping for some lobby or some kind of conference room shred sessions as well. I want to not be able to walk to my plane because my legs are shredded to peices! Nothing like taking 5-6 days off after a tournament, and then your way better once recovered.

Lets make a list for people who want to stay in a hotel, then we can choose one and I will book it on my credit card.

I just got a free takraw ball from participating an event supporting Burma this past weekend by playing Chinlone, or hacking with a takraw. I plan on bringing it over to Hackrifice for some hacky fun. Does anyone in Winnipeg have a takraw though? I was just thinking that if you guys already have one, I don't have to strap it on my carry-on and bring it all the way over from NYC.

Yessss. I love Chinlone. Sometimes I kick with the Chinlone crew here.

I also used to teach Takraw to kids at a summer camp! And footbag as well of course. I actually didn't even know about Takraw (this was a few years ago) but because I played footbag they were like, "Oh yeah, if you can kick that you can kick this-- here ya go, teach it!" ha. fun times.

The only prospect of bringing my own is the opportunity of getting it signed by all of the attendees there, but I'm afraid that by kicking it rigorously afterwards the decal would rub off (like if I used a permanent marker to get all of your signatures and whatever). Regardless, it would be a cool idea. What do you guys think?
