Cunt
i understand that everyone takes words differently. And I myself am not implying that people should use words out of the boundries that they're used for...
I just think people take certain words too seriously. and ofcourse im not offended by any of those curses, because im mature enough to understand that stuff like that is just said out of anger, or as a joke...
Also, everyone is different. and everyone is gona react differently to certain words... I didnt mean it to be a dick... But we all need to understand that life could be a lot worse than someone calling you a cunt.

It wasn't directed towards anyone specific. If it were to Jordan it would have been in the main text.

I'm being honest here, and the word I'm talking about may be a bit relevant but off-topic to the current discussion here, but is the term "gay" still greatly offensive to a person, a body of people, even a community as a whole?
I just don't see it as offensive. I mean, if I were using it to belittle a certain subject outside the context of humanistic representation, it's understandable and acceptable. If I were using it to belittle people or a community, I believe that is over the line. I mean, if the term is used as a derogatory generalization against abstract concepts and items, it is still a term used as a generalization. I doubt humans are either abstract or "items" in the very sense of the description.
Also, as much as I think "owning a term" for a community is absurd, adapting the term "gay" to represent your sexuality is okay but to disallow the use of the term outside your communal boundaries is absurd, I think. This is my opinion, but I think the term "gay" is a pretty lenient concept in of itself based on the English language. There may be a strong association for the term, but I just don't see a strong dissociation for it as well.

I suppose the universal terminology of a word or phrase has differential adaptations towards certain subjects across different regions, cultures and personal ideologies. Personally, I don't see that word as offensive for any gender, but there may be some people that are very sensitive to the word in general.
I think I will retract my intent on discussing this further, since it may lead to diabolical consequences and malcontent on the term, through its modern definition, embodiment, representation. Also, the leniency of the English language is still very debatable, especially in this case, since discussing the freedom of speech and censorship would only lead to double valent arguments that would only be counter-intuitive.

That's certainly an opinion.
I read How the mind works by Steven Pinker recently, and he presented some pretty compelling evidence for evolutionary development of homosexuality in humans (many animals exhibit homosexual behaviour). Of course we're talking about trends and emergent behaviour here, so no doubt there are plenty of exceptions and other reasons for people being gay as well (disclaimer for people who don't study genetics
).
Basically female relatives of homosexual males have more children than the population average. The theory is that there is a gene or combination of genes that result in the person becoming more strongly attracted to males. In the case of males, this means they have no children, but this is made up for by their female relatives having more children. Hence there is an evolutionary advantage in homosexuality (although only if it remains a small percentage of the population obviously, otherwise the women wouldn't be able to find mates). Pretty interesting stuff.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being gay. Our Lord made people differently. Gays are just called to serve God in a different way- through abstinence and community service.
Now I know what you liberal tree huggers are gonna say "whoa duuude, how can you expect people to not get their groove on (have intercourse)."
Well to that I say look at priests, look at monks, look at people born with no sexual organs,.... it's called self control.
And I also know you new age libbys are also gonna say: "Hold on there Don, what about atheist gays?"
And to that... I have no answer but they are in my prayers.
Rock On.
And I am totally cool with saying cunt, as long as there are no ladies or youngsters present.
