Funtastiks 2008 - Harrisburg, PA - Labor Day Weekend

I'm not sure if I'll have the budget to cover my stay at a hotel room. It depends on who's attending and how many people will be staying in each room. I think getting a ride to Harrisburg isn't a problem for me, but I have to budget and make bags to sell at this event to help me get by in this tournament (which shouldn't be a problem).

The only concern I have is how the beginning of my Fall semester is going to be like. Hopefully I don't have to do any major assignments in my first week of classes.

side note: For those that are budget challenged, the Harrisburg East campground is awesome and very inexpensive. I stayed there 5 years in a row at one point and had a blast each time. They have a campfire pit, swimming pool, full locker room with excellent showers etc. And it's so close to the hotel, you can easily shred with friends at the hotel, and then retire to the campground afterwards.

That's cool. I can't justify renting a car to drive up by myself though, and I would rather not camp by myself either. I'm gonna sit this one out I think.

I've got to update Bob's info on this one, because its out-of-date. The campground does have certain advantages, but, the host hotel has moved a couple of times since the last time Bob camped-out at Funtastiks, and the campground and hotel are no longer in such close proximity. Further, That fire-pit he mentioned was a very nice feature, and still exists, but that giant pile of construction scraps with which we fed the fire has long since been all used-up and has not been replaced, so you've got to bring your own fire wood. Funtastiks camping just ain't what it used to be.

The camping is still cool. If everyone does it then it will be even cooler. I've done it at almost every funtastiks i have been to and its always a blast. Could you take a Bus Ian? Or maybe you could Hitchhike.

If I had a comfortable sleeping bag with padding, I would definitely camp than stay at the host hotel. It would definitely be a sweet idea for everyone to camp, especially since this would be the last Funtastiks ever. Just a thought.

I don't know about the camping. I need access to showers when I kick, and for me the Saturday night shred until late is the important part. If I had people to room with I would consider taking a bus. I just found out I do have that Monday off.

hey Rob I ran into some guy in prague who is a teacher and claimed to be your nieghbor. Why we were both inside a kentucky fried chicken in downtown prague is pretty wierd!!!! sorry you won't be there.
That said I camped there a couple of years ago and the wood pile was not there but i was able to pick wood up along the road and bring it in. Also i believe aiden is comming in from pittsburg, also check in with the erie crew or any people from the chicago area. see ya all there ted f
