practice material
I've been trying to learn to stitch bags but I can't find good material to practice with. I've tried t-shirt material and felt. (Neither worked very well) so what should I use.
www.fieldsfabrics.com
ultrasuede light.
it's not that expensive (you can order it by 1/8th of a yard instead of a whole yard for ~$50), and if you're going to go out of your way to acquire fabric to use, instead of just using a shirt from around the house, you should just get Ultrasuede light.
either use the shirt to make the practice bags or get the ultrasuede light. no point in half-assing it.

Buy from the "Specials" or the 45" wide section (left box from the 58" wide one) if you're tight on cash. Don't buy "Aqua" or "Sky Blue" as I think those colors are extremely frail for footbags.
Be sure to not buy Ultrasuede Soft. Only do so when you want to get "Active Green" or a stronger "Tulip."

"Footbag can be pretty frustrating when it's supposed to be fun. I was partly driven by this forum - practice, practice, practice... As that is true, I think someone can be too focused on progressing and training that they miss the fun aspect of it." - Bander87

Some colors are made differently, while some are passed off / believed to be ultrasuede light but are not. It's just a matter of our experiences from our purchases, the stitching community, and how we rate the performance/durability of each color.
I'm sure there are some pretty frail colors in the 58" wide category, but I doubt it's something for you to worry about. I'm just a skeptic when it comes to some colors, especially the colors Tulip, Aqua and Sky Blue.
