I remember when you guys came to Seattle for the 4th of July two years ago and we all talked with Ben about his going off and joining the Peace Corps. I've done a good amount of this kind of volunteer work myself, and agree completely with the general perspective of his train of thought. It's a very complicated situation with definite exceptions, unfortunately. Having spent a month in Ghana, I can say that the attitude is very much the same, and that's in West Africa -- Ghana is allegedly the model for developing Africa.

Regarding the mentioned administrator-type who proved equally disappointing: I've experienced this as well.

I have a friend who has done work in India teaching kids in open-air schools, and he's told me that he's encouraged a lot of the kids to take school seriously.

Sorry, not really in the frame of mind for a long and drawn out post, but you should tell Ben that I hope I get a chance to talk about this sort of thing with him before too long! Well, hopefully I'll get a chance to see -all- of you guys before too long.

I've been putting on the lbs lately, and it's making footbag more difficult. After watching videos from last summer, I realize that I was much better at footbag then. Tricks that I had dialed then I struggle with now. Tried playing a bit today

What I try to do is keep my knees really close together throughout the entire trick, and set the bag pretty far behind me to maximize the swirling window...when set behind you, you'll only have to do a small gyro

set it waist high and stay on the balls of your feet.

Just had a 2 hour session. Played well and had fun.

First trick of the day was Frenzy I've only hit that trick one other time, and this was the first time in shoes

Well, I just got done with our job in Craig, CO. I'm still working in the seismic exploration industry, but I'm on the drilling part of it and it's BADASS! Basically, what I do is drill a hole in the ground and put some dynamite down it and then my helper puts the dirt back down the ground and puts a little hole plug down. Then the shooter (which I used to do) comes by later on and shoots it off.
