Bags You've Made
The pattern generator was revived so i tried a different sized template. My second footbag with an animal print radiation pattern...i actually achieved the right size but the cheap practice suede i used was way too thick and difficult to stitch with. I have ordered facile now so hopefully i'll be able to use the good stuff soon haha.

thanks matt, michal, alf and cale!
michal your new bags look AWESOME! love the colours and the style
ye the wings are stitched onto the bag as a spike would be, looks SO cool in play as they gently rotate and it looks like they propel the bag!
cale go for it man! look forward to seeing what you come up with!
K4S i look forward to seeing a facile bag from you! the stitching looks pretty good already and good material will only help!
should have another winged one up soon

Please don't make a "one-winged" bag. I think that would be in bad taste.

Great guidelines to keep in mind:
1. A very exact looking template. A pentagon should look like a pentagon. The hexagon you should use should look like a pseudo triangle, with 3 long sides and 3 short sides.
2. A straight running stitch path, with even stitches all around. Once you gather the bag, the gather should look even through the folds and not crumpled and uneven. Keep those stitches straight!
3. Even bleedhole stitches. The first and last stitches on the hexagon side should be adjacent and somewhat equivalent to one anothr. Use the short side of the hexagon to help your judgment.
4. A good amount of depth to sustain your running stitch, and to keep that depth consistent throughout your path. This will keep you from making your panels looking crumpled.
Hope this helps Stephanos. Keep it up!!

allright, i am working on a plan, and i know i have kljopa and rawsko behind me. introducing the new way a footbag should look:

the brown /white bag was made for rawsko
if you ever played with a bag like that, you know its fun! and its best for spectators, so its the maybe best bag for street performances.
cod, i like you xxl size as well, i think i can tell your name in my list as well! ^^ huge bags rock

I wish I took a picture of the recent XXL red fleece 8-panel I made at Funtastiks, along with the new mini 32 I made for Adrienne Dukes in that very same weekend.

here is my attempt at sweatshop-style stitching (or, as Jay called it, Hania's method). I could see how this could lead to cranking out a bag in under an hour, but it's going to take some practice!
a synopsis of the style:
whereas I've seen the average stitcher do (say, on a 2 stitch bag):
poke, pull, poke, pull, poke, pull, poke, pull
this bag was made by doing:
poke, poke, poke, poke, pull.
dig? each poke is only done until the needle comes out the other side as far as the distance of one stitch, then you poke it right back in.
edit:
ps: this bag may be ugly, but it feels SO good!!!! definitely one of the best I've made lately... So, there's hope for the style. I have to clean it up.
BRICK!

matt, i totally dig your latest bag, as you might know i love ugly bags that feel and play awesom. that is what i try to spread for years now, a good bag does not have to look perfect, performance is everything.
and, under an hour is like... dude, thats fast!
