Hey guys,

so as sad as it is not to have erik around, this year will be super dope regardless!

Every one who needs crash space will have it!!!

I'll just be pulling up my socks and giving up my bed. Because of the crazy number of people attending, people will be split up between scott's place, joel's place, my place, possibly jess's place, and my best friend will's place, just to ensure every one will be comfortable (or as close to comfortable as we can make it for you). And while i could just house every one at my place, we might not all be friends by the end of a weekend that close together

Umm... I may just be a tad paranoid, but I injured my ankle at this weekend's Funtastiks. It came to the point where it felt a bit difficult for me to walk, and I guess I over-exerted myself. However, at trying to see this as not a defficiency but an opportunity, I can help out at this year's Hackrifice however I can (like organizing and bulk work).

I haven't set up a routine song, nor am I sure that I will compete in circle comp, but I will do my best to enjoy myself as well as helping out the best I can, even if it cuts my shred time to zero if any.

You can probably say the Hall of Fame ceremony at Funtastiks has me inspired in a way.

I will see you all in two weeks, friends!

I have flight confirmation and my itinerary is finalized! WHOO HOO!!! I arrive on Thursday Sept 18 @ 20:00. Ahhhhh yeah!!! But then I leave on Monday at 6pm.

Hey every one,
Not alot of people have told me what size t-shirts they want. Well, now we have the design, so get me your orders ASAP so i know how many to order and what sizes. *** If you do not tell me number and sizes, you will have to pick through what we have left. PM me your orders now*** Also, due to the cost, we will not likely have any of the retro hackrifice shirts printed. So with out any further ado, here's the shirt for this year...

Black and White on Grey shirts. Designed by Mike Faille. It's based on the Manitoba Coat of arms and the colours of hackrifice's long standing website designed by Erik Chan. pretty snazzy hunh!

I can't find an image of last year's Hackrifice t-shirt design, but I did find the '06 version in which I have shorts that might match it. Plus I think it looks pimp.

Why I didn't buy it two years ago is beyond me, though.

School is getting tough, so I don't know if I'll have much bags to sell at this tournament. I mean, I can stitch on the plane and during stops and whatever, but I guess I can only aim for... 5 bags more or less. I will have Andrew's order covered, though, and it will be gorgeous. I will try to make a prize bag, but I won't be making any promises.

I just noticed that it says 98-08, but the first Hackrifice was 99. 98 would make this this 11th :p 98-08 does look cooler though :p (I think Joel founded Hackrifice in 97..)

Yeah, joel said that the club was founded the year before the competitions started (99?) which would be 1998. Even if it's not totally accurate, it does look better. if we say 10 years and it say 99-08 people will be all like "what"? Hackrifice was atleast around in 98

In other news, Prelims and Net will be taking place at the river osborne community center. it's located on the map.

So I don't forget, some cool things that we could add to the map would be:
-closest 7-11s to all venues/hotels/residences

-Wellington Crescent (really fancy-pants houses and a nice walk (for those who will be staying extra days) (and right by my house

)
-Exchange District (for those staying longer -- "hip" area with lots of art galleries and neat little cafes and the ilk (I'm sure Andrew can add some hip nightlife sorta joints of which I would be oblivious))
-Osborne Village (another hip strip, right by the community centre)
-Assinaboine Park (biggest part, quite nice, also contains the zoo; nice spot for relaxed shredding by the pavilion building (equidistance from Andrew's and my house))

I was trying to think of things that people from out of town would be interested in seeing. Winnipeg is kinda lame, but there are some noteworthy things I'm sure... St. Boniface cathedral? (Soooo lame by European standards

), Happy Land disc-golf course?? Location of a place with really good poutine (for non-Canadians!) BDI Icecream? (Historical Winnipeg site -- incredible icecream and a nice walk over the bridge to a nice neighbourhood (befouled by yapping icecream-consumers and their litter); they were planning to make a movie based on this ice cream joint...)

I was playing around with a similar map to Andrew's for living here in Munich. It's really fun. I like how it tells you how many feet from one point to another! Maybe we could somehow print copies of the map if anybody is interested? Just on cheap computer paper would work fine I think.
