It's been a real relaxing day off of work. Nice long session, decent weather, some dunkin donuts in my bellysack, and I'm going to fire up the grill in a second to cook a steak for dinner. I'm not sure what I'm going to have along with it. I was thinking of making cheese and brocolli potatos. Those are always worthwhile.

My bad about yesterday. After seeing those highlights Im even more upset we didnt play together, haha. I actually managed to last for a good 45-60 minutes yesterday before my knee started acting up so maybe by this weekend it will feel better, or whenever the next time you have time off from work.

Sick job on the torque stuff. So for zooming torque, is it like mobius or is it a zooming pdx torque like marius?

zooming pdx torque WOULD be really sick. Man. I can just imagine someone like chris dean or nick landes hitting it and stepping out of it or something. In order to do THAT though, so to make my life easier, I'm going to have to skool my flip zooming to get the set just right. I COULD try it on my weak pdx torque side (god knows THAT zooming set is nigh perfect. . . I do it too much) but that'd be too cool for school.

s'aight about that, Doug. Glad you guys could have a good hack anyway. My cousin is visiting my parents up at the Thousand Islands next week and it's one I haven't seen in like 7 years so I'd really like to go up and be with them. So that'll mean the next time we play will either be some random early afternoon session you two wouldn't mind making (I start work at 4:30. So you guys would have to be here by like. . 1) OR at the state fair. Because I intend to rock that every monday and tuesday it's on.

In other news I just bought a new book; Neuromancer. For all you freaks n' geeks or otherwise l33t peoples you might know this title for being a milestone in the cyberpunk literary genre. So anyway, I finally got the hutspa to go out and get it and I'm all gittery and happy that I did. See, since I'm going to get back into writing I'd like to try my hand at writing cyberpunk fiction. Seems really cool. I found out about the genre and the subculture years ago and went through this pseudo stage where I tried to "be" something of a cyberpunk. yeeeeah. It got me grounded and messed up my sleep schedule for school.

but I'm fascinated with it either way, and am playing with some ideas to start the story.

the evil skittle has a hole! But it's evil so it doesn't want to die without a fight so nothing's coming out somehow. And it helped me through the rest of the session.

stepping mirages are good to skool high sets. Just so's ya'll know.

had a pretty sweet session today. Loads of style, friends, but also not without going all out with some tripless runs. I was trying to hit stepping osis > mobius > DDD > bubba beater. It was an inspired combo that I thought would make my day. Didn't hit it but the best attempt got me as far as the bubba beater and I just couldn't power my way through the second dex. The DDD took so much out of me.

but it's still a sweet link. If anyone can do this (and there are plenty) I'd suggest it. Feels really footbaggish and professional. I'm happy I came up with something to shoot for that's pretty much ON the threshold of difficulty as far as adds AND linking is concerned. A sip of Monster would've done it. Today's session was caffeine free.

yeah it IS dangerously close. But I'm leaving in about an hour to go back to Syracuse. I've got work at 4:30. If I'm ever here for more than 2 days, which doesn't seem likely, I've always wanted to hop over to kingsto-w-n, and see what you and john and mr. ogden are up to.

it's so close that my parents listen to a kingston radio station up here 24/7. It's actually a decent station. I approve. Once only proving my point that Kingston may just be the coolest place for driving 5 hours in any direction. Rochester (cough, cough. . Denny's) and downtown Buffalo may come in close 2nd and 3rd.

had a really short session yesterday under a pavillion. Chilly as hell. Didn't even think I was going to play while I was up here but I had my shorts on and about two hours to kill. So I played. Hit reactor a handful of times. That trick is a bit too hard for its own good. I have a decent strong atomic, my whirls are fine. . so I have no idea why it's another bigger trick I can't just tie together two consistent components.

two guys at least. One guy's named William Digges. The other guy is named Matt Kemmer. Both are pretty decent at footbag.

there are at least 40 good shred spots at U of A that I saw while driving through it a couple times, but was always too far and lazy to go there myself. Just be creative. Dormroom shred is nigh impossible unless you're Norek or Eoghan. Washington Park is also good. Any gym. Siena has some good spots . Empire Plaza. Played there twice and I wish I had done so more. Downtown. Ask around.

I couldn't play today. I tried but I felt a twinge of pain in the middle of a really REALLY nice string. Soooo shuffly and bothsided. And the funny thing was I cried out in pain and said "FUCK!" and finished the string on a DLO > dimwalk > nuclear hand catch before I stopped.

so I'm saving myself up for tomorrow at the Fair with Doug and Ian(?). I was going to be on today had I not felt that twinge so hopefully I'll shred hard tomorrow. I'm excited.

Until then I'm going to drown my sorrows in juice and play some Soul Calibur IV with some pals.

Fair shred was good fun. I wish I'd played better. My best strings were ones I guilted tons and tons and usually redid the same two or three combos. Fun fun silly willy.
Doug was rocking the shred! Amazing. Always good to see. I've seen him on off days, I've seen him mostly play good days, but I've never seen him so in the zone. It was sick.
Ian is making a push for atomics and bothsided toe shuffle. And he's doing it with a vengence! And I murdered his last name in my Fair Journies thread. .

some things I'm thinking about:
I need new units. I'll order them this friday after I get a paycheck.
I need to renew my subscription to Game Informer
I'm taking a trip to North Carolina Labor Day weekend (maybe) to go visit a friend of mine with my former roommate.
three really long black hairs are growing on my shoulder and I just realized it this morning. They are gross and before I named them I cut them. No, I didn't put them in a decorative little box to be kept under my pillow. That would be over the top and nearly insane.
My brother is a staff writer for the Sarah Connor Chronicles. The DVD of Season 1 came out a little bit ago. I want it. He gets them for free. He's not going to give me one.

had a pretty fun session today so I decided to break the silence of my blog.

some good things have happened in the past few days:
got a new computer 20 inch HD flatscreen baby
completed by basement design. I was just waiting for a computer to fill up the space on my desk. But now it's perfect. I mean I've never been happier about a living space in my whole life. It's actually pretty unhealthy how long I just stood in the center of the room and just smiled as I looked at everything. The pinnacle of my basement is that just about EVERYTHING is wireless. Wii, 360, stereo (surround sound, thanks to my brother), computer, hell even my BOOKCASE is wireless! Anyway I'm really happy about that. The one drawback? It's still my basement, which means it's carpeted and low low ceiling. HaHA! friends, that's right. No footbag. Aww. Shucks. Well we'll see how little I care about carpet when I get new units that have 0 dirt on them.
I finished neuromancer and am on to William Gibson's second book, Count Zero. So far so good. But now that I kind of like the way Gibson writes I'm going to take what I liked and see if I can kind of mold my own writing style around it and begin my own cyberpunk story. I'm still storyboarding some ideas and whatnot. But I'll probably just bring down a cup of coffee and just plow out a few pages one night just to get the ol' ball rolling.
An old friend of mine is a design major. He said he'd help teach me some graphic design languages and even said that he'd help on any projects I'll be having in the future as far as game design is concerned. So he's our third member of Symple Paradox Inc. (Myself and Asmus Helms make up the other two. . . )

My friend Matt and I are also going to start thinking about beginning a new project for S's and G's. Not sure if I've mentioned this idea in here before but oh well. Here goes:
so I'm sick of the blogging trend. I don't like blogs, and I find what many people write about is shallow and/or uninteresting. I get what people are trying to do, why blogging got started, but am tired of people relying on myspace and livejournal to speak their minds. What ever happened to pamphlets? Right? Died off in the 1800s and early 1900s for the most part. So that's what Matt and I are going to bring back. Each week we're going to pick a topic, anything from music to politics to unfocused rants and poetry. I'll write one one week, with his help, and then he'll write another with mine. And so on. And we'll have our own persona and pen names. It'll be really dry and people probably won't get it at first. People love randomness and cynicism these days. Finally. But it's different from what we're proposing. So people will probably just shrug and say it's annoying. BUT it may get some attention after a few months of pitching hundreds of these things all over downtown cafes and hipster hangouts. Who knows. We may become underground celebrities.

so your homework, kids, is to research Jonathan Swift and Thomas Paine and Ralph Waldo Emerson. These guys are Mac Daddies of satire and pamphleteering.

some highlights from today. Not much, since I took about 5 days off and started back up yesterday. Not good. I've been eating terribly and have been pretty much a stain in a chair these 6 days. But honestly my knees were getting really touchy and it was getting me worried.
