I was so tired

8 hours of serving people bread and water. I had to break out the units and kick a bag.

I'll tweak the quality and make it nicer. I kept it low just because I was sick of waiting for it to upload. Or I'll use my .org account. Not sure yet. In fact, let me know what you guys think. Would it be that annoying for me to use .org? Youtube really does destroy videos sometimes. I'll make another very soon and see if I can't revamp.

@ Asmus - I already PM'd you. Know that I am starting to storyboard gameplay mechanics and expect another PM about some things you could do.

@ The Rea - Thankya sir. You shall get a lot more. Watching this video I noticed I play really scrunched in my basement. I'm frightened of my low ceiling and consoles strewn about the place that my whirls come inches away from hitting. It's going to take some getting used to, but it'll be fun. I can't think of a way to get footage of me outside or in a bigger space unless I physically MOVE my computer. Possible, but it'd be annoying as hell and I don't want to. If people want a good video of me then they're going to have to wait until the I play with you or the RFA.

that being said my vlogging will probably be really choppy short strings highlighting some stuff I had done earlier in the day that I'll try to repeat. And single tricks. I'll do some of those too. I'd like to highlight my quantum and atomic sets so that I can analyze them and get them critiqued by you, the viewers. That'd be awesome. Expect that video this weekend. Saturday. Check it.

sorry to disappoint, guys. I didn't get to caming last night because some people came over. Had a real nice session - nice, but short. So I kind of felt like I needed to play some more. . . in my basement!

I can't play in my basement. I don't understand people that can play in their basements or bedrooms or something. There's just something about it. I can't get anything done. And I'm also leaking massive amounts of water after about 20 minutes.

Soooo yeah. I have to think of something. Like I have to either be hardcore about single tricks on webcam only. But I'm not one for the sick tricks. So that'll be hard. I could always just start playing earlier when I'm not dead tired and more willing to do other things besides footbag. I'm sure.

Either way I assure you you aren't missing ANYTHING from tonight. I did smear a couple times. Literally. I did ripwalk once and sidewalk once. It took my four tries to hit diving clipper. I'm surprised I went on after that.

anyway I'm still going to use this thing a lot so don't worry. My bitching and moaning about it is only temporary.

but some highlights either way: right?

tripwalk > barfly > ss symple swirl (second try)

tap > dimwalk > barfry > zulu clipper > far symple clipper

some personal record breaker ducking/diving osis and butter runs.

yarp. . . well this was something of worth I guess. I was trying to have video confirmation of a few things and this was a failed attempt at redoing the first highlight. Oh um. . . I curse. Sorry.

Here's the deal, Mrs. Keel. I'm feeling retardedly motivated since my alarm worked this morning and I was actually able to get up before 11. I threw myself over my phone and couldn't feel my arm so I missed the phone by about two feet without really noticing. That was funny.

ANYWAY! Motivation. So I'm going to go to the bank, go to the store, e-mail some more good people at grad schools, get some coffee, and THEN. I'm going to get right to it and play some footbag. My hope?

finally had a normal session where I'm not worried about playing in front of the webcam at some point and laying off. I played yesterday and got some stuff on camera. Nothing big. Pissin' me off.

But it was a decent day today. I thought I had fixed my flip atomic (again) because of some review from webcam stuff. But nope. I'm so sick and tired of atomic. Seriously. I've been doing atomics for over two years. Maybe two and a half.

do you know anyone who can say that and then tell you that they have hard time hitting flip tapdown or eggplant? I shouldn't be dropping almost 20 times in a row over and over. . . which I do when I'm drilling atomic. I just plow right through it. Failed dex > pick the bag up > try again > failed dex - over and over. Oh my god. You have no idea how much this brings me down from any footbag high I've ever felt. I could hit janiwalker right now and then have someone go up to me and say "Right but now do tap > tap on your flip first try" . . and I'd shrug and say 'no can do, my good man'. And they'd laugh. - granted. I probably CAN do tap > tap on flip but it'd have to a from pdx mirage or blur and I'd have to be having a good day anyway. Dropping it right to my foot? Nope.

sooo yeah. Upsetting to say the least. Once again I'm confronted with the fact that I don't really know anyone in the entire footag community who is as slow at this game as I am. Off the top of my head.

that being said I'd like to think I'm probably one of the most persistently in love with this game and I'm never going to stop.

ANYWAY! Enough of the doom and gloom, friendos:

whale tail bsos. First time in a while. Not since a sesh with Ian, Doug, and Ben in Pittsford. Wait. No scratch that. I footed it flip to sos. So this is the first time bsos'ing it. Pretty fun trick.

some mid string flip vortex. Still not sure what my flip is. heh.

run with tons of pdx whirl > spinning stuff. Pdx whirl > spinning pdx mirage , pdx whirl > SD clipper , pdx whirl > gyro whirl bs (I actually have this on camera from a couple days ago. I'll find it and plug it in to YouTube)

some new pixie shuffle with some pixie muted ss osis bsos (an old request from Asmus. I'm going to have to do his REAL request on camera some time)

anyway, look for a new video soon. I'm just reviewing it right now and cutting it up a bit.

Not in any order. Footbag is still keeping its head above water. I was hoping to play today because yesterday was fair at best. But I don't think I'm going to have enough time. I just got back from this meeting for my PT job and now I'm off to my high school to get a transcript and a piece of writing I'm going to submit to a few grad schools. Ugh. I could probably dabble with the bag a bit before I go to work but I feel that anything under an hour is worthless. That's probably my problem. I should reconsider a more Lon approach to freestyle. Any downtime (like instead of writing unnecessary blog entries) I should just pick up a bag and do some toe2toe or eggbeaters or something. Just school some weak points. . . just to clarify, I called it a Lon thing because I think I read a post by him where he said that. It may have been in his sig. can't remember. But I thought it was good. It's Lon, after all.

Hmm, the 10th of October? If so, that is a Friday and I have fridays free.... That would be freaking awesome. We'll see how classes go for the next 2 weeks and if Im still passing each one, then it is a very very strong possibility.

I totally agree with you about atomic. I dont skool it often (hence the lack of atomic from me) but when I do it fucking sucks. Constant atomic set>drop>rpt shitshow.

Btw, why'd you just state, "James Risden" randomly? I figured its just bc he's James Risden and he's the fucking man, but just curious if theres any more to it.

and yes. I just wrote James Risden's name in this blog simply to bless it and give it sustenance. I think everyone needs to do this. If you ever have a few bad sessions just invoke the name of a footbag legend and/or hero. You shall have three weeks of good shred. So says me.

I'm moving to LA by the first of the year. Pretty much for good. I'll be staying with my brother who lives in Silverlake until I can get enough money to get my own place.

I'd really like it if I knew there were footbaggers somewhere with an hour of Silver Lake. I doubt it, from what I've been hearing of the LA scene. That sucks. Why wouldn't there be footbaggers in LA? Although I wouldn't think twice about taking lighter fluid to my shoes and footbags (sorry Waylon and Ian) and setting them on fire I feel like what I need is more people to play with and learn from right now and I hope I'll be able to play with Bill and between now and then.

sorry again about no video. As soon as I tame these shoes. I'd like to hit stepping whirl bsos in front of it. And then probably whirl war II would come about 2 minutes after. I can feel it.

Atleast they did when Anne from Denmark was living in LA last year.

played again today for a solid session for once (a little less than two hours. . . I think. Stupid clock on my car is brokdedup)

I did a strange thing to my units. People don't use goo nearly enough. It's a swell little thing some of us really only use to patch up little holes in our shoes or bags. But I used it last night to correct my failed modding on my units and I gotta say "good job, Pat!" pixies are better than ever. My old units had smaller boxes and the lip of the lacing border would often result in really inaccurate sets. The other week I was hitting toe symp whirls for the first time ever and I had to revert back to my old ninja jumps just to catch up with the bag which was hurled off into some random direction. It wasn't good. When I get real used to these new ones I'll try that trick again and hopefully get a little more consistent.

but anyway so my toe game was quite a bit better today. Sos'd smog and hit flip porque. The insides are still a bit stiff and strange so I couldn't get more than five ripwalks in a row which pissed me off to no end. Drifters were a bit iffy but I managed drifter daze a couple times.

OH OH OH ! yeah. So remember my rant and pissy post a few up about flip atomic? Yeah well the old units were the cause of THAT as well I think. The toe sets on those were really awful I'm finding out. So I was working on some atomic stuff midstring and was one contact from a really controlled rubberman. Along the same lines tripwalk was my bitch today. I had this little stylie run with quantum legover and muted magellans strewn about my tasty palette of legball tricks.

I hit a really REALLY crispy blender. Charbroiled, friends. I HATE blender. Fuck. . .

The SU football team likes footbag, apparently. 1/50 of them made fun of me as the convoy crossed into my one-man circle and trampled my clothes. They didn't notice my pants and hooded sweatshirt. Far symple swirl and pdx whirls were far more interesting to them.
