I don't think I can make it to Camp Wakahakee this year. I have a couple of major projects that I need to prepare along with registering for graduation. The first two weeks of October will be intense for me.

Things have been slow to come together as the organizers have lives and those lives have been busy. I've been trying to pull the pieces together but schedules keep not lining up and a complete lack of funding has made a number of details hard to work out.

I need some sort of small vote, on what I should bake for Saturday. Since Friday I have a huge math test, which starts at 7:00 PM I'll only be there late Friday night, but on Saturday morning I could bake fresh, drive to the event and have people some sort of treat.

Fresh Banana bread ROCKS,

But Muffins with strudel on top, and other goodies do too.

Other suggestions?

Ah baked stuff is great but what about booking sites to stay at? Aren't there greater logistical issues that have to be addressed before this issue.

I think we can all agree that dealing with negativity with negativity just won't work and we can all agree that we all are looking forward to this event because it will be a lot of fun and will provide awesome times and memories.

That said I think with the event so close having the details of the event still up in the air is troubling. I believe you guys can pull it together and make this a big success but it didn't have to be a last minute thing and the last "minuteness" of it to blame for the concerns that some of us have. I think its pretty reasonable to be concerned at this point, I hope the organizers can related to the non-organizers standpoint.

Please keep us all updated as things progress even if it just little things. Looking forward to this

Yeah, I shouldn't have reacted with negativity, but I was pretty bummed she'd come and take a dump on us out of nowhere. She should know that this is a hard (and usually nearly thankless) job to do, so pointlessly spraying negativity at the people trying to make a fun event happen doesn't help ANYTHING.

The first post now has every detail you need to know.

It's been a bit of a struggle but I still want to make this happen and I want you all to come have a great time, so let's do this!!

It doesn't need to be complicated. I've pretty much had no say in anything thats happened this far. I don't see why it needs to be in Oakville now, but whatever. I was GOING to post this...

Here is a little breakdown of things:

Entrance Fee (18+) $5.00
Unserviced Site (no hydro, no running water) $27.00
Serviced or Premium/River Front Site $34.00
Additional Vehicle Fee (Overnight) $10.00

So that means each person will have to pay $5 to get into the park. Then the site fees (whether they be serviced or non serviced) are obviously per site, and will be split up to 6 ways (max six people, two tents, and one car per site). So either way its under six dollars a night for the site per person. If there is going to be more than one car parked overnight at a site, then it'll be $10. Bundles of firewood can be bought at the main entrance for $5-$7 dollars I can't remember exactly how much.

Bring camping gear (tents, pillows, chairs, blankets). There is a grocery store nearby so maybe people with cars can help by going on grocery runs. Otherwise, bring food from home.

I was told by the park staff that since it is the off season there is no reason to pre-book a campsite as there will be plenty available.

As far as finding someplace to play goes, we'll either be playing at a nearby pavillion, or at a handful of other sites that are really close by.

It's camping, even footbaggers can't fuck this up.

Just get to Brantford! It'll be fun!

Like it's just that simple. I don't know why its in Oakville all of a sudden. Thanks for the heads up though, I'll see all of you some other time!

If people can get to the GO line they can get to the event.

I don't understand how getting to a more obscure city is easier..

Despite the splash of excitement in this thread, things are still going forward.

I can help people with rides and whatever else, I really want to make this possible for people.

Remember I'm still willing to pick you up, but I would have to finish my math test first.

If you wouldn't mind being picked up after 9:00 PM (I believe my test is an hour and a half, thus 7:30->9:00) and then to waterloo and back, I'd be willing to do it.

Saturday is open though. Just tell me whatever.

Okay, today Jay and I were having a pow wow organizing the last final details of wakahakee when the oddest thing happened...

We had everything all sorted out when the best idea hit me... Let's just do it all at my house!!

I have enough room for everyone to camp out in my backyard, there is room for several shred circles, there will be music and partying and convenient things like SHOWERS and running water and.. YES!

Bring shred videos, we can blast them on the big screen while we shred and party.

There are basically no cons to this last location change, however there are many pros such as:

- REALLY easy location to get to
- no parking fees
- free lodging
- shelter if needed
- private showers
- cold filtered water
- TOM'S BIRTHDAY PARTY SATURDAY NIGHT!!!
- fresh apple crumble from the oven
- fuzzy kitties and a doggy to pet
- no curfew, party hard as late as we want
- microwave
- late night shred
- backyard NET!!!

Basically, please don't crap on us for changing all the details again, but seriously, this last change just made it so much awesomer. If money was an issue this just made it WAY easier to attend.

So, sorry for all the changes, but we have shit ironed out now so get stoked and we'll see you next weekend!!
