CAMP WAKAHAKEE 2 - *OCTOBER 3-5* Thanks for coming!

Alright, so as Tom said today we had a pow wow. WE played some footbag and finally we came to the conclusion that his house is really good for shred. We sat in the kitchen, got a pen and paper and began to write down a to do list. It consisted of each person who we expected to come and how we should accomdate them. Then we realized a few complications and went to play shuttlecok while we talked about the best solution to the problems. Like cold and rain.

At the campsite, if it rained at ANY time it would suck, or if it was windy or cold it would suck, and then on the flipside if it was delightful and cozy in the outdoors it would be incredible. Either way, as Tom sat in his chair and looked like he should have been smoking a corncob pipe, raised an eyebrw in suspense and said "I just got the craziest idea, -pause- we should do wakahakee [stands up, jumps to his feet] RIGHT here!

WE proceeded to talk really quickly and get excited about how if we had wakahakee at this house it eliminates all potential for the cold or rain to ruin the entire weekend. Worlds '08 haunts me, and I wasn't willing to have no backup for cold weather, and didn't want to make people pay MORE money for an awesome weekend.

"The big move" sounds all great, it would just need to cooperation of you guys to bear with our insanity. If there is any opposition, the campsite is only 10 minutes away so, it would be the same tournament.

Mhmm.

Well, I'm sure some people will be upset that it won't be 'real' camping, but I think - considering the time of year - that this is a good idea. October can get cold and rainy.

I might not camp out for this, but will for sure make it on the Saturday (and perhaps the Friday and Sunday as well).

There is a pretty much perfect spot in my backyard and I am going to make SURE there will be a campfire to make this a 100% legitimate camping experience!!

There will be hotdogs and marshmallows and popcorn and stuff, perhaps even smores?

Awwww, I just got all fuzzy and warm inside reading the Wakahakee thread from last year!

I am REALLY excited to have everyone over to my house, my parents are into it (yay!) and I'm really looking forward to seeing all these great people that I like so much.

I heard today that there is a carload of montrealers planning to come! woo! (Montreal freestylers, can you confirm this?

I was just going to light one of the big trees on fire and hope for the best!

Oooh man! I am getting really excited now, I am really glad this option turned out to be possible, I promise it will be fun!

Also, there's so many little perks like unlimited ice cold drinking water and hot showers and warm shelter if need be.

I just had the best idea.....

We can totally hit the.... SAUNA FOR SORE MUSCLES!!

Yeah!

There's totally a sauna in my basement and we can fire that up to relax sore footbaggers!

I keep having all these ideas, I even checked the local fire regulations, this can be done!

Ooh, I am probably gonna BBQ too!! YESSSSSS!!

The ride got cancelled... I don't think James is planning to go, and I'll be in Toronto working actually haha, conflicting schedules.

But hey I'm there for a week, so I don't feel so bad about missing this one.

Well Tom... way to edit out that jerky-ass post. But I'm still going to address it:

I was simply stating something that I'm sure was in most people's heads.

I had called it "wack" a while ago in conversation with Haber, regarding the choice to camp in October, and he found it funny (which it was meant to be) and encouraged me to post it. I didn't until I discovered how truly wack it was, seeing as the organization just hadn't been there and you have flip flopped like crazy, which as you know screwed with my plans. I had arranged my schedule around the original date (which itself was much later that I had ever wanted). But with the date switch I had to put off MOVING if I wanted to attend. And I'm not sure why I did that.

Also keep in mind that I tried to help, I wanted to contribute, but I was NEVER made to feel welcome in any of the organization. For the record, I have had nothing to do with this jam. I really hope I'm not at all associated with the organization. The only thing I did was nag Tom about starting a thread for it. I talked to Johnny and we brainstormed and stuff, but him and his ideas were completely cut anyway.

Come on Tom, you know this is majorly floppy. I hope it works out for ya, I really do, and it's awesome that you're willing to put up footbaggers at your place. But I think that a lot of us had awesome hopes for an actual footbag camping trip, and this is far from that. I agree with Johnny, it seems like you just turned it into a birthday party for yourself.

Do that with your fixie friends next time, ok?

I might show up. I don't know.

12 hours until Cassy and I arrive for wakahakee, hoorah! I just have to get a programming lab and a calculus test out of the way first...

And Camille, if you showed up on Saturday I'm sure we'd all enjoy it, and besides, Mike FAILLE is coming Saturday too! What a guy!

I'm going to hit a mirage this weekend, I'm excited.
