And you were the first who said that it wasn't that great...I forgot about the Blazes and the stepping out of ps whirl. Also, don't forget atom smasher x3, 4th footed.

I just had a session with Camille about 15 minutes ago. She hit PLO bs, smear bs, footed magellan like 100 times, and dimwalk (bs?). I also had the best pixie session of my life. It was a good day for pixies.

We're playing again on Wednesday around noon, if you can make it Adam. I'll probably be down for Thursday as well.

I just tried to start a little experiment in the Rochester Footblog because it's been mostly getting really short planning posts lately, maybe I'll try it here too?

What's your favorite FAT story?

I've got a lot of them, of course.

Here's one of my faves.

The time I came up to do the Breaking the Cycle show with Erik and Adam!

The show itself did not go well for me. Erik and Adam both played well. I played really badly that night, BUT...

after the show, I got my YTV Jock Shorts TV spot a few days later, so I had the privilege of staying in TO a little longer. I had some family friends I could have stayed with, but Erik and Marita put me up in their apartment, right by the CN tower. I had been taking a break from my smoking habit, so my lungs and head were clearing up nicely, which led to me doing some of my best freestyle playing to date (which made it onto the FATCross video). The non-footbag time there was great, though;

it was my first time meeting Marita, and she totally took care of me during my extra time in TO. Erik had work, so while he was there, Marita and I went on long walks and talked about TO and my girl problems at the time. We went shopping and had lunch and basically had a great time. I'd never even really spoken to her before, but Erik told me she liked my music, so when we got together back at the apartment with Erik and Mike after the FATCross session, I played some guitar for them (which also made it onto FATCross), and got to see some of Mike's work on paper.

I had had NO idea of the depth of his talent, passion, and skill! I tend to infer a lot about peoples' character based on how I've seen their passion manifest itself (or rather, whether they have passion at all; if someone's got passion, I can respect it [maybe just partially, or maybe on a separate level from the rest of my opinion of them], no matter for what that passion is for) so when I know someone outside of one of their passions, and then I become exposed to it, I usually see people on a whole new level.

So, it was great to be exposed to Marita's passion for friendship, hosting, and welcoming, and to be exposed to Mike's passion for images. They both brought me to a new level of admiration for their beautiful selves.

back to the Breaking the Cycle show...

the FAT session we had afterward was a blast! Josh Lackey broke out MC#42 (turtle), a bag that he's kept in PRIME condition for as long as possible (thanks Josh! means a lot to me). I'm not sure if anyone's game was super hot, but there were LOTS of people around to check out freestyle, and it was during this session that I got my YTV session, as well as some contact info from a promo agency in TO that I have yet to take advantage of

gotta get on that...

So, just wanted to share some positive Toronto memories. I could go ON and ON!!! and, tell you what, if a few more people share some nice memories, I'll post another one

Matt! I saw your YTV session on youtube a while back and was SO surprised. Those hosts were totally off the wall, but you handled it perfectly and did a great dropless representation of footbag. Props on that one.

The scene here is great! I've been involved in every FAT session since I've been here, and am feeling a great improvement in my game. I had ZERO pixie game when I first got here, but yesterday I hit smear, smudge, and PLO, all on both sides in one string. It can only get better. Now that I know that sets are possible (noway), I'm gonna start working on stepping.

Everyone is a blast to play with. Theres a good mix of humour and intensity. Since Camille and Mike had been away, I've kicked a lot of solo sessions with Adam. There are only two of us, so we lean more towards challenging eachother to hit crazy shit (well, Adam hits the crazy shit) rather than doing long strings. It's been motivating me a ton, but I'm still waiting on that Alpine Gravedigger from Adam.

Basically, shredding with FAT has renewed my joy of footbag. I can finally take out "CL: GETTING BACK INTO FOOTBAG" out of my signature, as it's no longer an issue.

Danny: Jeeze you're getting insane putting all six of the pixies together. Mucho jealouso for that. Just thought I'd drop in and say my piece on a story involving TO. Two words: TO Jam. My first non-RFA tournament. Just being able to stay in Mike Faille's house and sleep next to Jorden and Andrew and Doug and Chris all together was what fueled every part of my passion for footbag this summer. I don't improve very quickly compared to a lot of guys out there but Boy I accelerated after TO Jam. Much love guys, thanks for having me

Aw wow, thanks Matt! For the props, the cute story, and the sweet idea! We really do need to write about sessions more instead of just making plans.

As for a story... man... where would I even begin? I've been a part of FAT before it even existed. I nursed it and loved it and helped it to blossom into this fantastic fun footbag fenomenon! FAT!

I'll have to write a story, or two, or a million, at a later time, because I'm totally overswamped with everything.

But as for yesterday-- YES, it truly was the "PROGRESSION SESSION"! So much fun! The Pixie...Pixie?

graced us with her presence and sprinkled her magical dust all over us!

I hope she can fly in the rain cuz I'm planning on smudge and a bunch of other pixie stuff and bsos all of it tomorrow! lol

We'll have to play at Ryerson under a shelter, I know just the spot. Meet at Yonge & Dundas under the big screen at noon.

Greenwood, you comin? Let me know before 9 a.m. man, I'll bring your hackrifice shirt.

I just sent you a text, Camille, asking about shred. I also had no idea that it was calling for rain. I guess I'll get my longboard earlier so we can meet up sooner. Adam said he's done with shred until Wakahakee.

After the session today, I was on the ground in pain, yelling about how I wouldn't be shredding for at least a week. But here now, a few hours later, I'm stoked to play again. We're definitely still on!

It was sort of a slow session today with a lot of frustrating moments. My main discovery was mid string DLOs. I hit

Butter>pdx mirage>DLO RPT

I almost cycled through it twice, but dropped on the final DLO contact (DLO number four)

Also, I footed smog around 4 times. Tomorrow, the trick will be MINE.

It will probably make sense for everyone to head into Toronto for Nuit Blanche, so we will organize a carpool to get everyone to the train.

Also, does FAT have an idea of which train they'll be coming in on?

DATW x 4 on my strong...
and some good DATWs on my flip. They felt better than ever.

At next years Wakahakee, I'll definitely represent TO with some TATWs.
