Hi my names Tom, im new to the sport so i thought this a fitting place for an introduction
Ive been playing for around two months and have looked at the forums here specifically the trick tips and i figured what the heck i might as well join so i can meet footbaggers haha

I thought that you typed "(insert inappropriate word here)," and I thought you were a jerk, but then I looked again. I swear, I'm dyslexic or something. So, what kind of stuff have you been hitting? Do you play with anyone else? What kind of shoes do you play in? What's your favorite color? (hahaha, just kidding about that one)

unfortunatly i do not know anyone in the state who plays so its been solo session style for me haha

well lets see im just now starting to really hit the basics cosistantly, still schooling all the one adds, both sides, and finally getting clipper strongside a few times per session and maybe once or twice flipside every couple of sessions

ive been playing in macbeths, theyre similar to lavers in most ways except the important inside area so theyre alright until i can save up the money for lavers, hopefully soon haha

ive also been using one of the 14 panel dirtbags from flying clipper that luckily the local head shop had, im hoping to order a better bag along with the lavers, sometime in the near future

I tried finding photos of the shoes you're talking about and came up with pictures of a billion different models. Do you have any photos of your model?

Some members would discourage this, but just get reebok g-units. When I first started I paid 60$ for lavers, what a ripoff. gunits are only 30$. Its a steal plus I think they're wait cooler/better than lavers. Lavers were designed 30 years ago so they have no support and their soles wear out hella fast.

Welcome to the forum tom, you should try and get some of your friends into footbag before your skill becomes to overwhelming for them

footbag is funner in groupes

thanks for the advice, yeah it would be supa cool to get some friends into it but at the moment they are still stuck in the hacky slacker state and think of it more like a novelty like i dunno a yo-yo or so
but i shall keep trying
by the way i am really planning on getting better shoes for this haha

i think it'd be better for you to get good, and then show your friends, this way it seems more possible rather than them looking at shred videos and beign totally blown away and not believe it is possible. Hope that makes sense.

makes perfect sense after all if i had someone here in town who could play even ( as simple as it sounds to more experienced players) play tiltless it would make this whole thing seem a little more possible haha

Those shoes actually look ok.

I would just get a Mr. Sandbag and then later on get some lavers (not g-units, wait for a while before you think about units).

Yeah good call, I'm just describing my situation, all it took was for me to learn how to clipper and around the world then all my friends where discouraged from playing with me

yeah i guess it kinda is but i kinda like to think of it as something more as more of a sport rather than a childrens playthin( as in the crappy yo-yos that you get at the dollar store, not what was in that video) dont get me wrong i think yo-yo-ing? like whats in the video is cool but thats not what i think of when i think of yo-yos if that makes any sense

Oy, I am also an Indiana player, I live in Bloomington. I'd be happy to shred sometime, as there is a major lack of players in our great-but-not-for-footbag state.
Also, you should head to the New Year's Jam in Chicago this year, you'll be amazed at how much fun you have, and how much you learn. I'll be there for sure.
