Holy cow. I should have a lot of overtime this week.

Bits of info: I have been working on installing for something amazing.

http://www.woodstreetgalleries.org/home ... urrentshow
http://www.hentschlager.info/

I got to talk with him a bit today, which was a real surprise and pleasure.

Aside from that, I have worked 38 hours in the last four days (two more to go this week), installing. One thing that brightened it up for me today was kicking with my coworker John, who not only knows how to do some basic footbag and old school tricks (squeeze, delayed-knee pops, atw) but also is funny as hell. Well, alright, all of my coworkers are great. Artists. Funny mofos. Aaaghh! So much fun!

I will be in charge of maintaining this show. It is going to be challenging at times, but I am up for it. Hopefully I will get to kick as well, as I have a deadline on a freelance project.

Highlights:
Whirl in campers, and jeans, multiple times both sides
Schooled fairies as well.

Kicked late last night with Matt in the spot ever. Dumb session :)

Highlights:
Fairybeater-string
kicked ripstein backwards or up about at total of 15 times
Practiced atomics

Dumb, short, important session

kicked with Matt.

It was a weak session for me, as I have not had much of a chance to kick in the last two weeks, but it still had its moments:

Highlights:
Swivel
some nice twirls mid string
stronger ripwalks on one side, getting there on the other
strong dynos
ducking pm felt great both sides
I had many strings with whirls bsos.

Despite an obvious lack of energy and fatigue from a demanding 58 hour work week, my head game feels a lot stronger. I feel like whirls and ducking moves should be bop-owned, and I am going to make it happen, Then comes the focus on spins.

I know that fairy set will be mine.

kicked with Matt, quickly-before the debate.
It would be too easy to call it a dumb session because there were so many highlights, but it was odd because it felt like all of the stuff I have bee schooling was wacked out.

Ironies:
*Strong side whirl apparently is on sick leave but I hit weak side ws by accident.
*Strong side torque had a picket fence but I hit weaksided paradox torque first try

Highlights:
Dynos felt great
blur over ten times on weak stepping side
Atomic sets were strong on both sides
a couple great twirls

Matt highlights, because I can't refrain:
blurriest
neo+ mirage, illusion, flail and symposium mirage, to at least a toe, after the session, in his living room, within about as many as ten or so shots to get all of them
ducking paradox flail
stepping, paradox symposium eggbeater
voodoo midstring
a string that was well over 40 contacts. I had like 3 second winds watching it

Meanwhile, I really like my new job.

Era of Mesh Units is officially over. I have today started my first of 8 green units. The insole is a wide foot dr. Scholl that I have ripped out of a pair of ugly work shoes. I think it may work out fine, though it seems thin towards the toe.

Jake and Matt were out today as well and they played well as usual. Kicking for me today was spotty due to the new shoes, but there were some highlights:

Paradon-far symple swirl-string-infinity-swivel
Two other swivels earlier that may have been thin. Certainly thinner.
String with two blurs on right side
lots of dynos.
Ripstein-failed osis (ripstein was nice but the osis wasn't)

Kicked with Matt.

New Units:
Tight at ankles
_Makes Torque hard
_Affects clippers{whirls, butterflies especially}
New soles
_Steeper Pivotal range {seems to help dynos}

Highlights:
Blender footed on both sides
swivels on my left side
stronger ripwalks on right side
a couple more blurs on my right side
schooled left side ducking pm. A couple decent ones mid-string
left side dod-decent string
swirl bsos a few times
rev. swirl- ss infinity- string- ss rev. swirl-hand
did a little bit of spinning after resting from it

I haven't kicked since Monday. Work is tiring and I had some freelance obligations to take care. So, I basically miss footbag a lot.

Here are some highlights from a telephone conversation I had with Matt last night. Yesterday he hit:

*Pixie Paradon, sealed both sides
*Fusion, sealed, both sides
*Blurriest, sealed on one side and hand-grabbed on the new side.

If I understand correctly this is 5 new moves. I believe he has also hit Scorpian's Tail as well (Sunday).

Of course this means that once your ankle gets better you need* to hit fairy paradon :D

feel free to correct any errors in my posting. I'm just really excited about how well you are playing and glad and eager to share the updates.

lol yeah thats a blogworthy phone conversation, especially if he hit the moves while he was on the phone with you. as long as im here i might as well post that i schooled those "new" clippers smore and they're coming along now meaning they dont feel so unnatural anymore. anyway we'll see if this form over function thing plays out in the long run.

Kicked with Tyler and Nils.

Tyler is getting better and threw some osis' into his game. He also hit eclipse from a toss... I should have given him more props than I did because that is really impressive. He also hit a good whirl.

Nils hit pixie butter fly bsos, solid pickup drills, buttefly-osis both sides, a couple solid refractions, ducking clippers set from inside stalls, and his dynos are coming a long way.

I re-laced my units without the tongue-whole as suggested by Nils, after I complained that my smaller right foot was floating in the shoe too much. There was a major improvement in both feet.

Personal highlights:
4+ consecutive whirls, both sides.
My best torques yet.
Kicked ripstein twice, with very few tries. Almost hit it mid-downtime also.
Swivel.
Quantum butterfly both sides
Footed Torquescrew off of my right side.
Good dynos
Atomics are getting better but are still sloppy.

Kicked with Nils, Tyler and an injured Matt.

Injured Matt hit fairy paradon on his not so injured side.
Injured Matt is on the verge of some heinous stuff. It strikes me that the injury may actually be saving him from destroying the rest of his body.

Nils hit some solid drills and is developing whirl on both sides. His dynos look better and his swirls show a lot of potential

Tyler is learning osis and whirls

I started the session off skinning my knee a bit, coming down from a swivel. My face stopped inches from the ground. Reminded me of when I got stitches from pendulum in the nineties. Today my arms were sure to take more of the momentum.

Personal highlights:
Loving my new torque style
5 or so blenders on my left side
some very good attempts at ripstein that involve uptime and downtime dexes, with a hop

I got a great fish sandwich today at Wholly's. Mmm.

Kicked with Tyler and Nils.

Tyler:
Symposium whirl. Twice.
Far osis-repeat-repeat
Simple swirls look like they will happen soon

Nils:
Whirls hit on both sides.
Ducking clippers look like they will be part of usual game soon
Came alarmingly close to blenders on both sides. I forgot if he hit one or not. Went past it several times.
Pixies are showing up on both sides, though at least one side is particularly shoey (right)

Personal highlights:
46 bops- it's been a while since I tried
blenders on both sides but not sealed with 3 adds or above
Stronger dynos than before- lower, closer, blinder, held longer and more visible at the end
Stronger Pixie than usual. Really concentrated on setting with the support leg
Atomics were somewhat reliable. Had several strings with atomics on both sides
Hit at least one swivel
Swirl is getting better. Bsos, plus one extra on my strong side- one string

Kicked with Jake and Nils

Nils:
Blender. Solid.
Improvement in dynos, ducks, clippers and whirls.

Personal Highlights:
Strong spins on left side. Getting closer on the right side
Swirls. Swirls, swirls, swirls. Muted clippers with dexes.
Twirl on weakside, and swivel on the other, same string
Paradox whirls looked good on the right side. Haven't touched them much recently.
Whirls were pretty decent today.
Footed about 6 quantum butterflies on strong side, sealed once (first try) with a PM. Footed on the other side.
I'm getting really close to pixie butterfly swirl. I should start schooling pixie butterfly on my weak side first though.

Bizarre session. My right arc is not excited about being alive atm. Creak.
Aside from that I was spent from a challenging week at work. Somehow I got a second wind at the end and hit some stuff, but I need to find a new insole before my evening session with Nils.

Highlights from session with Matt:

Matt:
pixie dod
fusion
pixie voodoo
blurriests
footed some heinous tricks
fantastic spinning drills
fun simple tricks
etc

me:
footed trip walks on both side.
swirls, frozen and plentiful on strong side
two weak side swirls, same string
a couple swivels
45 contacts of paradox mirage- inf.
some consecutive ducking butterflies.
whirl-osis-whirl

Hah! Fixed my router! I am mobile once more!

Kicked briefly with Matt again. Nils will kick tomorrow instead. It was a quick session because it started raining, but I hit inf.-swirl twice in one string, and that is a very good sign. I am also happy with two other things today: I got a sense for stalling simple swirls, and I kicked ripstein two out of my first three tries.

Kicked with Matt. Short session, but needed after time off.

Matt is so good. His right ankle is still a bit swollen, so he has been limited fsu and learning new tricks on one side. I can pretty much guarantee that if he is still playing this sport when his ankle heals, that he will hit each of these tricks on the other side within one or session. I'd put money down.

Personal highlights:
*4/4 tries on my first spinning clippers. Footed the 5th one.
*spinning clipper to swirl. No hesitation in between.
*swirl-swirl, with no hesitation
*Weak swirl 2/2 tries
*infinity-swirlX2 and weak swirl same string
*far bfs a whole bunch of times
*bfs on weak side
*far bfs, deeply stalled- osis
*Far butterfly swirl-dyno-pm
*Pretty close to stepping, weak side bfs
Are we sensing a theme here?
*pogo lo on left side. Second or third try. Footed the other side.
*Learned the benefit of dropping setting leg while stepping. Resulted in vastly improved weak side stepping. Stalls, deep enough to bust out of
*Figured out that downtime paradons are somehow built into my left side. I still have yet to hit one purposefully this way, but each try seemed consistent and closer than usual. I will study these, master them and apply them to both sides. Basically I stopped doing my mid-time paradons and I have been concentrating on Matt's form, because it is impecable. I think my left side is on the verge of doing that.
*Atom Smashers were solid on one side. Made some progress on the other.

Ate a beef roast with my dad. Made scalloped potatoes with gorganzola and two other cheeses. Discussed politics over tequila cosmopolitans. He game me his bread board (circuits) from 30 years ago. I love my dad so much. I need to spend more time with him.

I was really happy with my footbag, and going in on my day off to run an event for some great people that came by the Wood Street galleries, but nothing makes me happier than hanging out with dad, and feeding him like he's a king. Mother fucker deserves it.

Good session.

nice highlights. after u were up/midtiming those ripsteins the other week i have a feeling ull be bustin out swirling sets pretty soon. sorry about the other night, phone turned off and if i hadnt been so lazy i would've found ur number out somehow and called u back. anyway make sure you save some energy for that so-called jam this weekend. i have no real highlights to speak of for this week, but i did hit a lot more of those inf style clippers, maybe 10 or 12 b2b.

Great day. Two b2b sessions.

I don't know about what to say about the "Hallowjam," other than SCF got to kick with Josh (Tripp) and his cousin Jeff, and it was a great session. If you haven't had the pleasure of kicking with Josh, then I wouldn't know where to start. There were some amazing highlights but I don't have enough energy to go into them.

Personal highlights:
lots of far bfs
footed far bfs bsos
good atomic stuff
stringed out of tripwalk, left side
some more osis' out of tripwalks, left side
footed ripstein once, kicked it another time
felt pretty close to hitting paradox torque bsos (tilted though)
kicked ducking bfs

I was very happy because I shared two bits of information, one of my own and the other was second-hand from DC, but Josh was able to immediately demonstrate the effectiveness upon listening. Then later tonight Nils did the same thing by giving me advice on stepping sets and it worked.

Kicked shortly after with Nils; highlights:

Nils:
inf. b2b= smoother
osis-clipper, repeat drill= stronger, smoother
5xPickup-legover= they looked solid. Great foundation in the work.
consecutive muted ss clippers, almost to the point of freezing, still showing excellent control= could very well lead to swirls in the EDIT:
near future.

Personal highlights:
many stepping ss inf. on my right side
several energy efficient blurs on my right side

some good strings
some solid drills

Altogether 4+ hours of footbag today. A fantastic day.

Wish I could have come to visit, but I didn't have any rides. I am intrigued at the idea of seeing Girl Talk: when are the dates? Hope to see you sooner than later, it's always a pleasure hanging out with you and playing.
