i'd be down for coming down for a sesh on the 26th (provided theres room for me to show up early). i'd also be down for staying til the 1st or 2nd (again, if theres room).

living relatively close to chicago i'd love to be there for as long as possible for this event.

Can I start a petition for shred30?

If you're attending and want to participate in shred30 let's hear from you!

I would participate in shred:30 if it was held, and I'm volunteering Ben Skaggs and I to score it.

I would probably do shred 30 if there was one. I've never competed in anything before, so why not.

I'm not going, unless something really drastic happens in the next three weeks.

Re: shred 30

Speaking strictly as a lazy hacky slacker rather than a past co-organizer, I think finding people who willfully volunteer themselves to to take the time to judge while everyone else is kicking and having fun is more of an important factor than how many people want to participate in the event. Then again, what the hell do I know about freestyle..

Now speaking as a lazy past co-organizer:

Before CIC helped out, Scott D had to to do fucking everything practically by himself and barely got to play. Those of you who have run events know how much this sucks ass. When we offered to help out, our general philosophy for the event was to make it a fun jam, for both the attendees and the organizers (we just want to have fun too. We're the god damned Chicago Inner Circle, that's just how we roll). Now with more organizers, we've been able to spread out the responsibilities/stress to maintain a quality event and still have time to play and hang out. Part of how we've achieved that balance is the choice of events we've run. They're quick to set up and judge which allows us to stay on schedule and gives everyone more time to play at the site or check out the many activities in the enormous convention center which help set NYJ apart from other events.

One more thing, many thanks to all those people that have helped us out over the years by volunteering their time and effort:
-Mike Hansen. We can't thank you enough for everything.
-Steve Goldberg for helping us with the enormously popular late night shred room the past 2 years
-All you Mc's that have helped out in the mic
-Everyone that's helped attract and interact with the many bystanders and spectators throughout the weekend
-The players that help with the less than glorious grunt work of setting up, packing up and cleaning out the event site.

Aside from the judging aspect for shred 30 - the event itself will take a long time. Circle takes more than 2 hours for just open. I don't want to squeeze in so many events that we have no time to enjoy non-event fun, even if I'm just watching as you guys judge.
