Ciao.
Welcome to footbag. Benvenuto.
Footbag can be a little bit lonely -- there are many dedicated players who have few other people to play with nearby, if any at all.
However, I have heard of other footbag players in Florence, Italy. May I direct your attention to another excellent footbag web-site:
http://www.Footbag.ORG
On that wonderful site you can find a list of players and clubs and competitions to go to. You should probably contact this club in particular:
http://www.footbag.org/clubs/show/1184955283
It sounds like a perfect fit for you. You may notice that they also refer to a footbag event in Italy that I, personally, would REALLY like to take part in:

I know, its already too late for this year, and next year is a long way away, but if we're both very lucky maybe we'll meet up there. Hope this info helps you out.

Ciao e benvenuto!
Take Outsider's advice. Play and go to tournaments. It will take time to grow the scene in Italy, be patient.
If at some point you want to upgrade your equipment (Nikes and a 26p are not ideal) I would suggest visiting www.planetfootbag.com they are one of the best footbag companies in Europe.
