THat was wicked intense.

+1 on the nuke drill

everything was great and you had my jaw droppin'!

Edit: woops, new page...

B_Man wrote:Hour and a 45min sesh tonight. Didn't focus so much on drilling this time, just wanted to get some things on camera and see how things are lookin. Ended up being pretty good - better than I expected, actually. Foundation was better this time around. From watching this, I can see that my weakside quantum could be deeper (will need to concentrate on dexing closer to the knee, maybe start more with the knee than with my foot) and that my right side furious needs more of that 'explosive' power off the set. Currently, it's still set in the old ways of doing things  . Also, I think I slurred that one Ripwalk after the second Ripped Warrior. Oopsies!

This vid mainly consists of some drills, some consecutives, that sort of thing. I didn't think I had that much footage to work with, but I was pleasantly surprised. I also just recently d/l'ed the trial version of Power Director and wanted to check that out as well - very user friendly, I like it :). Killed two birds with one stone.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed it :).

First session in a week due to work. I'm sick again from working outside but on a brighter note, this week will probably mark the end of the work season, which means more footbag thereafter! I'm very much looking forward to it.

Session today lasted ~2.5hrs. Felt strong, full of energy and no aches or pains - those are the best sessions  . Foundation was pretty decent - new record for Plasticman and almost had a new Toe Blur record. Worked on my advanced sets then went on to more advanced toe stuffs:

- 7 contacts of Pig > Pixie ss Egg
- Pred > Pred bs
- Blade > Blade bs

Overall, very productive!

Thanks Simon :) .

~ 3 hr session this afternoon. Calves felt really tight and I think my shins will be hurting tomorrow. Regardless, very good session. Went over ducking stuffs, Symp Mirages, Torques, Drifters, Pdx Blenders and furious sets. Was a session full of record breakers:

- New Toe Blur record
- New Drifter record (40)
- New Pdx Drifter record on bs
- New Ducking Legover record
- New Tomahawk record (I think)
- New Janiwalker record

- (EDIT) New Spinning Ducking Butterfly record on bs

Also hit BS Toe Blur bs for a new quantum trick, and - after a year since I hit it on my strong side - hit Nemesis on my weakside. Then I hit it on my strong side. Then on my weakside again. Then on my strong side once more. Also bsos'd Fury, which is a fucking hard trick for me so I was just as happy to do that as well. Going to bring a camera to my next solo and hope for the best.

Overall, a productive and uplifting session.

Thanks Ken :).

Kicked for 3 hrs on Friday, then again for another 3 hrs this afternoon with Rory. I brought my camera, but unfortunately left the memory card plugged into my computer so it was a waste to even bring it :? . Both sessions were good, though my shins are kicking my ass right now.

- New Plasticman record
- New Skull Smasher record

As for new tricks, Friday I hit Cold Fusion and Id on my weakside, and Quantum Drifter, Alpine Atomic Drifter and Barraging Mirage all bs. Today I hit Quantum Torque bs with Rory. Had some good strings, links and combos today - I was really pleased with myself. Looking forward to bringing back the Friday evening YMCA sessions again :).

Has Kevin captured the footage from this day yet? I've been waiting with bells on to see it!

Props on all the new personal bests and tricks

Yeah Ken, it's all one leg. If I did it muted style, it'd probably be the closest I'd ever come to hitting Triage.

Kevin, I'm not too sure if Kevin captured it. I haven't spoken to him since Hackrifice, unfortunately. I'm sure he's got it somewhere but I imagine that life is pretty busy for him at the moment.

2hr and 45min sesh today. Brought my camera (memory card included this time) and got some stuff on film for criticism. Two highlights:

- Blurry Whirling Swirl on one side
- New Barfly record
- 131 guiltless run (+100 contacts of it consisting of Osii and Butterflies)

So here's the video of some tricks. I wanted to see how my double downs looked, and in my opinion, I think I need to be more aggressive when they are the main downtime element. The Plasmas and Cold Fusions could be better: the last dexes could be deeper and I think I probably could have even started them higher (or perhaps set a bit lower?). The Fusions I tried attacking higher and quicker and I think they aren't too bad, the rest could be better. Furious sets I need to focus on keeping my knee over the bag a bit longer - as it is I think I'm pulling it away a touch too soon which closes up that second window.

Your thoughts?

I think the quantum on plasma is going to high. A quick quantum (support foot switch) is probably better on that trick than height.

The only trick I thought was unclean was one of the cold fusions.

(by the way, 3 is the listed world record for alpine atomsmasher)

Thanks for your input Zac. My quantums still need a bit of tweaking, but I will try your approach.
Matt K wrote:Could you hit alpine rubberman?
Yes, with time.

Late night kick with Rory last night, my shins were kicking my ass again. I've been considering getting another pair of insoles and slapping them in my shoes, along with the older ones, and seeing how that feels. If it works enough I'll probably go double-insoles until my shin pains go away.

The shred last night was good, and insightful. Hit a new Slap record - 11 on my strongside and 13 on my weakside. Both are new WR, though I'm sure anyone with a decent quantum set could smash them if they really wanted too. I want to get that Skull Smasher record higher as well.

I'm thinking Johnny probably has the record. I think he even hit a bunch in a semi-recent video, but it's not listed on his records either.

I go double-insoled in all of my shoes except my Climas. I have metatarsal insoles that the doctor said I could move from shoe to shoe, so I use those in whatever I'm using, and my other shoes have, I think Spenco in my walking Lavers, and Dr. Scholls in my work shoes. I'm gonna try out my Spencos with the metatarsals in my Climas today and see if that helps! Good thinking!!

I hope it works for you Erik, because it certainly didn't for me!

Tried playing today, and after 30 minutes it was almost unbearable to even walk. I did, however, break some WRs but who knows if Lon's list is even up-to-date. :?

So yeah, the double insole idea didn't work too well, and it made playing really awkward. I'm probably going to take a week off and see how it is, or maybe just 4 days then get back into it slowly. We'll see. Anyways, I just want these shin pains to go away because my knees have been feeling great this past month and a half, and when I'm pain-free I want to beable to put in 10hrs of solid drilling and 5hrs of shredding into a week.

Wish me a speedy recovery. I might post a video of some older footage I have laying on my computer. It's all footage that's been posted, but it's me playing around with Power Director and putting something together of older highlights.

Shins have been getting better, albeit slowly. I've had the itching to kick, and today it was just too much so that's what I did. I kept it tiltless and worked on beating some personal and world records. The shins felt pretty good through-out - I might start playing again yet only be going tiltless for maybe another week or something.

So yeah, some of the records. I'd send them to Lon but A) he hasn't been around for ages and B) I don't even know if the list is update due to reason A. Anyways, just thought I'd post them here, along with all the others, regardless.

ATW (In) - 101
ATW (Out) - 104
Fairy (ss Illusion) - 56
Illusion - 68
Pickup - 168

Ducking Illusion - 17
Pixie ss Illusion - 19
Tapping Pickup - 19
Weaving Illusion - 4
Skull Smasher - 4

I never ended up trying the double insoles, Byrin, but just 'cause apparently my Lavers are, like, 4 inches longer than my Climas or something crazy like that. My shin pain has been pretty minimal lately, though. On account of stretching I'm sure :) (And the metatarsals)

That's good to hear Erik. My shin pains have been dwindling away, and I think next week I'm going to slowly start to phase in my training regime.

Kicked today for about 2hrs, and felt really good through-out. Worked on stuff that didn't involve a whole lot of stress for my shins, but did take it up a notch compared to Tuesday's session. Highlights:

- Reverse Vortex bs
- Grifter > Grifter (I think Anssi challenged me to hit that about 3 - 4 years ago. Shows how much I do Grifters :P )
- Pick-up x 215 :D
- New Spinning Osis record
- New Dyno record

I also bought two more David Gemmell books, which I'm really looking forward to reading. Knowing me, I'll probably be done both in about two weeks :D .

Kicked for just over 6hrs this week so far. Also been lifting weights as well. Shins are feeling good, though I'm still taking it easy in terms of shuffle. In the next two weeks I should be back at it pedal to the metal, though I may stay away from furious sets for a few weeks longer. Maybe quantum sets as well, but we'll see how it goes.

Got some new records :)

Spinning Osis x 39
Blurry Clipper x 40
Far Rev. Swirl x 9

Finished book 3 of David Gemmell's Rigante series this morning, and will start the final book tonight. I'm really excited to read it, though I'm already sad I'm 75% done the series :( .
