Over 20 Minutes of Unreleased Clavens Footage (no video)

Friends,

It is fairly obvious that I have been inactive on the scene lately without releasing footage. With school and a busy life itâ€™s fairly hard to maintain a high level of technical prowess in this sport. That and my changing views on the game have made me into a player not much worth filming these days.

However, I believe I reached my technical prime last winter when I began releasing a series of videos from the basement of my dorm. While some of these were made public there were a number that I kept to myself and a few close friends. Upon watching these videos again I realized just how proud of them I am and how much I feel others would enjoy watching them. A lot of people have expressed their enjoyment with my .org galleries which house a lot of videos containing high intermediate shred. This CD will serve to update that skill level, giving over 30 minutes in what I consider world class freestyle, with 20 of that brand new.

The CD breaks down as follows:

About 36 minutes in total, over 20 minutes of brand new never before seen footage. I really feel that all of the footage is top notch, and Iâ€™ve thrown in probably my favorite video Iâ€™ve ever made; dcnov.wmv just to sweeten the deal. The videos denoted with *â€™s have been previously released, but seeing as they were filmed in the basement I find it acceptable to put them on this collection. Every video I have filmed in the basement is on this CD.

The reason for me putting this on CD and not DVD is solely based on the fact that I no longer have the source footage from these videos. On a monitor these videos look fine but I think on a TV they would get a bit blurry and just wouldnâ€™t make for a good viewing experience. With the rise of internet video and the decrease of DVDâ€™s for footbag I donâ€™t see this being a huge issue. Downloading is not feasible as there are many files plus hosting etc.

There are some who probably feel that it is a crime to charge for footbag footage. Part of me would love to release these for free but a few things stop me from doing that. The biggest is that I am a University student without a job and it would be awesome to get some help with rent, food, etc. Furthermore, myself and other top level players have dedicated our lives to this game to reach the level we are at. I truly feel that if you respect our skill it is not a crazy idea to ask for some kind of payment for videos that took me probably over 10 hours to film and edit, not to mention the years to get to where I am in the sport.

The CD will have all of the videos in .wmv format and the quality on them ranges from good to great. Almost every video is live sound which I feel is much nicer to listen to as it really lets you hear the rhythm of my game.

I just got one watching this video set and let me say...i loved every minute of it!
Dave really has something here, if your a beginner or an advanced player, or somewhere in between, this video is for you. For those of you who are beginners, he will open up your eyes to shredding like you have never seen before. And for those of you who have been in the sport for years and you think you've seen everything, guess again. Dave shows an intensity in his game that is matched by very few players. Every step he takes you can feel his energy as if you were right there. It makes you want to be the one giving the high five at the end of an amazing run. I thought dcnov was especially intense. There were a few runs in the beginning where I thought the rubber on his shoes might melt into the ground from moving so fast. If you have seen any of the dcbase videos you know how amazing they are and how you watched them over and over again. You NEED to see the rest of them! Fantastic shred all around by Mr. Clavens, I'll tell you right now, I couldn't stop watching, and neither will you.

Favorite: DCBase7

I give this disc a 10/10 due to pure madness. Who needs fancy editing when you have David Clavens?

I'm going to buy it really soon! This is going to be pretty awesome I'm sure.

I really wish more people would sell their videos believe it or not (so long as it had good editing and/or shred). I think it would be that much more fun to watch a video knowing that everyone else hasn't seen the same thing. The footage would be so much more rare. Having a huge collection of rare footage from all of your favourite stylers would be such a treat! I think we spoil ourselves with free footage, and we really don't appreciate how awesome a lot of these videos are. Not only that, but these shredders (dave for example) definitely deserve something for all of their hard work shredding, and editing these videos for all of us. And since footbag competitions aren't very profitable (even for the best of us) I think it would be a good idea to throw some money in the direction of people who are at the sports peak, and offer free videos to all of us online.

I received my clavens CD the other day. my computer had JUST died (from too much dropping

) so I asked my roommate, a total non-footbagger, if we could watch some of it on his computer. About 3 or 4 videos in, I said "thanks, we can stop watching after this next one", assuming that he wouldn't really want to watch, but the videos kept coming, and after 2 more of them or so, I asked my roommate if he wanted to watch any more, and he wanted to watch the whole thing. He was totally into it. So, we sat and finished it.

First off, I'm pretty sure those videos made me say "oh shit!!" a lot more times than Feet on Fire. This is my favorite kind of freestyle video:

one camera, awesome freestyle, no editing.

This video set is a must-have for anyone who likes footbag. this is some of the highest-level technical playing that the game has seen, and for a paltry $15, it's a STEAL!!!!!

speaking of stealing, DO NOT PIRATE!!!!!! if you steal this videos, you're stealing from David.

this one gets an 11/10 from me. you gotta see it.

I got mine today. Watched first half, went to shred, watched the rest.

I really like it when you start your run with a planned combo or drill. Big trick variety, big links, big combos, big runs. Stuff that you don't see from anyone else.
Basement nr. 6 was probably my favourite.

This was a good purchase.

Ive seen a lot of footbag in the 9 years I have followed the sport, and this was one of the best video purchases I have ever made.

Thanks David for selling these, really enjoyed reading your read me and watching all the sick links and drills.

Keep up the good work.

I hope others will sell similar videos of high level shred.
