Yes, Half-Life 2 release date has been floating around recently. Valve has given a different date that they can't back up, and Vivendi (the distributor) has never even mentioned the early date. Word is so far that April 2004 will be the date, but it's very hard to tell with things changing so much.
But, here is a pic of my HL-2 Computer in progress.
Should be finished by the end of this year, too bad i won't be able to play half-life 2...*sigh*

You what i think is going on with hlf2 is that everytime new technology come out the progamers hold back the realese date a bit so they can tweak the game to use this new technology so make the game that much better, because i just saw on pc gamer i think that when the game comes out that we are all gonna wish we had amd 64 bit procceser, didnt this just come out not too long ago?
Yeah, AMD 64 is the new hype, Pentium is also making a new processor geared towards hl-2 that is 3200 ghz, but of course, you have to pay hundreds more for those processors and get new motherboards that take it, and i'm not going that far...
I'm buying the silver package tomorrow the very second it comes out.. I can't wait.. ragdoll physics + CS = .. well, I don't really know, but it's going to be fun
I pre-ordered it and have been playing CS: Source for a couple hours.. a little buggy, and there's still only one player model, but it's loads of fun (and very pretty).
Cant wait. CS Source looks sweet. Halflife 1 Source? I didn't know they were remaking it with their new engine. Now I have a reason to play through it again!
Buy it online over buying it retail. Valve will get a much larger percentage of the profit, compared to selling it through retailers. http://www.steampowered.com
beat it, beutiful, awesome, i made love to it till about 4 in the morning but i beat it. and its great everyone should play it not necessarily on the own computer but find some one with a good machine and play away. oh by the way towards the end it gets uber hard.
