Footbag in Ontario, Canada
Footbag in Ontario, Canada
Hey there, I'm Dante and I'm new to the forums here. I've followed some threads but thought that I should get an account here now that I'm starting to get serious about shredding. I'm currently living in Finland on a Rotary Student Exchange and I've been shredding with some of Finland's best players in Helsinki every week. (see this thread for the guys I play with: http://modified.in/footbag/viewtopic.php?t=19515 )
I've only been playing seriously for a few months now although I've been interested in footbag for over a year. I can play guiltless although I'm working my way through the tripless tricks and still drilling those 2 ADDs!
I do have a question however...
I come from Stratford, Ontario, Canada. It's a small town so I haven't found any shredders there. However, I'm currently applying for university and I'm wondering where to go to meet up with some shredders. I'm considering Western, in London, Guelph, Waterloo... I know there's footbag in Toronto but I'm not sure if I'll be there for school.
So I'd appreciate if someone who knows those areas could fill me in on the shred scene in those places because footbag is something I want to carry on with next year for sure. I don't have a lot of time this year to drill so I'm looking forward to meeting some players next year. Any information on the universities you can give is also appreciated!
Sorry this was so long - Peace!

Hello Dio,
I am from a small village in the middle of no where, and I went to Germany as an exchange student and had that as my first year of footbag experience as well. When I came back, I applied and was accepted to Mcmaster, and the sole reason I went there was for the footbag scene.
Good luck to you, and see you in a year

I'm in the area too, though clearly not worth mentioning.
wow. um. sorry! jeez. I guess it actually slipped my mind for the duration of the writing of that post that you lived in the area... i guess I was in a rush or something and only commented on some of the previously mentioned people... maybe it's because your name doesn't begin with J! I'm more flabbergasted than sorry, but still sorry. forgive me?
anyway, ontario rules for footbag, and tom mosher is largely responsible for that. you should totally go to school there and contribute to making the scene more awesomer.
BRICK!

If you make a trip up to Guelph I will play with you. Maybe I could even make a trip to Stratford.

Thanks for the replies!
I have been considering Mac, but it's good to know that there's a good footbag scene there. It's not my highest priority but it can definitely influence my choice.
The 3 J's, also good to know
But right now I'm looking forward to checking out the Finnish championships in Helsinki next month
