No internet at home yet. I'm having problems connecting to their network. I just cleaned out my old room at LaRAZA. Just a few more items to take to the new place and I'm all done there.

Last Sunday was my Nieces b-day party. I ate a lot again since my dad catered the party. The last few years my family would throw my name on the girls' cake in a very half-assed disin When I got home I recieved a text from Nathan inviting me for another pizza tour stop. How could I refuse? It took only 45 minutes to get downtown to Lou Malnati's on Welles. The atmosphere was nice, my raspberry iced tea was fantastic but the pizza was ok at best. I liked the crust but there was little sauce and the pizza had barely had any taste. Oh, their service could have been better. Like Tom, I've given this place several tries but it's never lived up to it's hype. Still, it was nice to hang out with Tom and Nathan, even for just a little bit.

My knee is still bothering me slightly. Mostly going up stairs. Looks like rain on the weekend. Maybe a good time to rest my knee. Reile told me Zach was coming in this weekend. I forget all the details. Can someone call me if and when details are worked out. The sooner the better.

Tomorrow I babysit from 12-4. The girls have an ear infection. I have a few pics I want to upload once I'm back online.

Oh, to be clear, I will NOT be hosting any footbaggers at any time while at my current residence. Sorry.

Slow day at work. I'm currently uploading a bunch of photos to my Flickr gallery and a maybe a few to my footbag.org gallery if I've got the time. My knee is still bothering me slightly but I would like to play on Thursday if the weather is decent. If not, I may babysit my nieces or just solo practice at home.

4 people on the court yesterday. I was the last to show up at Union where Tommy, Scot and Brian were already warmed up. As usual  I rushed through warm-ups with a few serve returns and hand toss rallies and went straight into games. We did best of 3 matches for each partner then single games with a different partner at the end. Scot and I won our series and our single. Tommy and I lost our series and our single. Then Brian and I won our series but lost our single. I believe I finished 6-6.

EDIT:
In an e-mail, Scot H wrote:What makes you think I keep track of such things???

First Match- Scot/Zeke defeat Bryan/Tommy 2-0 (15-11, 15-11)

Second Match- Scot/Bryan over Zeke/Tommy 2-1 (17-15, 7 or 8-15, 15-4???)

Third Match- Bryan/Zeke over Scot/Tommy 2-1 (I can’t remember the scores)

So, after the matches, you and I were 5-3, Bryan was 4-4, and Tommy was 2-6.

Ninth Game- Bryan/Tommy over Scot/Zeke

Tenth Game- Scot/Bryan over Zeke/Tommy

Eleventh Game- Scot/Tommy over Bryan/Zeke

All in all, I finished at 7-4, Bryan was 6-5, you were 5-6, and Tommy was 4-7.

Not that I was keeping track or anything…
I started off strong considering I didn't loosen up properly and rushed to play. Within the first few games I had hit a spinning toe reverse, jumping toe reverse and a few sole pushes. I also hit 2 monster sunbacks and a decent scuff. I was doing an ok job setting my partners but I was getting more than a few strays than usual. My bumps and serve returns could have been better too, I just shanked/whiffed too many.

I played well defensively. I felt I challenged most of the dinks at the net, bumped or set easy shots/weak spikes and kept several big spikes in play with my digs. I'm getting my foot on a lot of hard shots. Some of it is getting a good read on more familiar opponents and some is just flat out hustle. I think I'm keeping 1-4 digs in play but I would like it closer to 1 in 2 (far more realistic). I attempted to block Tommy on a spike but I was not over the net so the bag landed on our side of the court

I started to poop out and lose focus near the end and my knee was starting to ache. I am still serving consistently. I had a couple 6-8 point runs using my reliable inside serve. I served deep pretty much all day but never took advantage of any dink possibilities. I brought out the sweep serve every so often, mostly when we were at the beginning of a game of ahead on points.

Having Brian on the court was fun because this is only the 3rd or 4th time we've played and he brings new challenges. He's pretty flexible for his size. He has a strong sweep (sometimes he hits them like Ben Alston-toe flip style) and his pulldowns are great. Not because he hits them hard, it's that they drop damn near straight down. I joked that he could probably Ayatollah with it (an Ayatollah is where you cross the net and toe spike into your opponents side of the court). Most of the time I fade back and he lands them 2 feet past the net. But if he see's me playing up close he can change up and lob over me and attack the back. He's only got one serve but he can dink or hit the back line at will. It was a little odd being partners with him, he seemed to get upset, mostly at himself, easily.

I did some pulldown practice a week ago, might make another boring vid about it. Still have to go through the footage from Zachs visit. Feel free to bother me about it, otherwise I might never get to it. Babara called about her documentary. I'll be taping the interview later this week and shooting on the weekend of the 15th & 16th this month. Gotta ice up my knee when I get home...

Solo practice against the garage at the new apartment. At 5'4", I'm fully aware that this spike would be more effective if I were jumping but this is just practice and I'll develop it to something more practical and effective once I get more used to the timing and execution. To be honest, watching players like PT and Patrick Keehan hit this spike standing gives me hope that I could do the same (even though they are probably both just a little taller than me).

I have to warn you, it's a practice video, so it's pretty boring since it's the same spike for 3 minutes.

I still got it. Will hold for you. BTW, Sexy man-beast, lemme know when you can hook me up for the Mirken. I'll need the extra cash to make 4S courts.

Speaking of which, I've got courts to make, an idea for a shirt to work on, a logo to redesign, a documentary to help with this week and I did the stupidest thing i could have possibly done...

I installed Call of Duty 4 and Rainbow 6: Vegas on my computer last night.

God give me strength to fight the temptation...

Here are some early drafts of the logo redesign.

coooool Zeke.

I think it needs the cliche comic book background with crazy colors and explosions.

For the net club shirts, I like the first design the best. Subtle use of the skyline. Slap some titties on there and I will buy several.

I like the draft design.

I like the logo design. The last rough draft when I scrolled down it looked like you were doing a "Body works" Footbagger where all the skin is missing and you can see the bones and muscles exposed. Anyway keep it up look forward to seeing you and the rest of the peeps in a few weeks.

Are you going to have more body bag shirts? I get positive comments on mine all the time. People who don't even know what footbag is think it's awesome.

Shyte, I completely forgot. I spent the first half of Sunday helping Barbara finish shooting her project. Some of it in the cold.... trying to freestyle...

I was crashed out the rest of the day. I'm dying to hack right now.

EDIT:
I just found a white hair in my mustache...

with a split end.

That's fucked up.

No, no, the faces were because I had the poops again, big time. I just re-read some of the older stuff and I can totally see where you're coming from now. I really don't have anything against you but my responses have been on the cold side. Sorry. I think we're just misunderstanding each other for the most part.

When I reread it, it was faces, of course... but then you started talking about poop, so I didn't feel silly for thinking that anymore.

Zeke, you have a shitty blog.

I've got one Body Bag shirt left. It's not likely, I'll be reprinting them because cash is really tight this year. I'm selling off my remaining stock to help pay for various expenses. Sorry, first come first serve, no reserving, no mail order.
