I had a pretty good session, my room mates weren't home so I took the time to make some bananabread concoction, and play in my common-area-living-room type situation. I'm getting closer and closer to double spinning clipper (the, non fluke version) and I'm awaiting the day when I can do it in Jeans. That means I could impress eldery women not crossing the street.

Anyway, some highlights...

[]Fear->atom*rpt->smear->toe blur*rpt first try.
[]Fear->toe blur*rpt->smear->atom*rpt first try.
[]Pixie legover->stampede*rpt
[]Spinning ducking clipper->far swirl->*rpt->run with far butterswirl->gyro clipper bsos.
[] Pogo swifter both sides. Almost b2b.
[]janiwalker->whirling opp butter->matador, bs.
[]Ruh-blubberman and Bluh-rubbermans, so, full cycles of switching up the quantum or atomic.
[]dlo->ss dlo*rpt->egg->ss egg rpt.
[] Symp torque both sides.
[]Spinning ducking butterfly->gyro diving osis bsos.
[]ripwalk*6. So, pogo ripwalk->stepping opp symple buttefly->ripwalk*rpt. Wonky.
[] toe ducking spinning toe->torque bsos.
[]Nick Landes zooms started today.

I think I need new walking around shoes, because my nike free's that I have worn roughly every day for about 2 years almost have no sole left, and the balls of my feet are starting to ache after I walk around campus all day. They were shoes while they lasted.

Oh, I also had a chemistry test which me and another 1000 students were paranoid about today, and I think I did pretty well. I knew what was up, and got answers. I also did a programming lab today, and I hope to get 100%...

Johnny Suderman makes good footbags. My display picture vanished because I thought my old one was lame, and that I need a new trick. Does anyone have any suggestions? Dark atmosphere, smiley sunny atmosphere, which trick, etc.

Very stylie trick, and awesome consistency, and sweet shred space. When you first posted I thought you were talking more along the lines of pogo set, then a swifter (like CLIP SET>(No plant while)OP IN DEX>>Same IN DEX>Same FRONT DEX>CLIP XBD DEL) and my eyes bugged out ma face a bit, though I doubt it's beyond you.

I think I am beginning to start enjoying footbag for different reasons than just as little as 2 months ago. While I think because of my lack of confidence a part of me will always play footbag for others, it feels really good to play now to really just because it is what I truly want to do. Even if I have a session where nothing groundbreaking was hit, but I know that hundreds of multiples of drills and angles will eventually pave the way for what I really want in footbag.

I guess I have this image of myself when I become good at footbag, and a part of that is defined by being able to string things that at the moment, I can't even imagine. This doesn't entail strictly fearless or ps whirls, but more of just having the freedom and control to do what I want with the bag. I don't know if the day when I am satisfied will ever come, but if it does I hope I can sit back and actually appreciate it. It would be a shame if I actually did get good at footbag, and my life was too cluttered with meaningless errands to have light shoulders and a skip in my strides.

For those who want to have a glimpse of the end of my journey, watch the DC basement CD, I've watched it about 8 times today and the more times I watch it, the more I appreciate it. Footbag can be that awesome,

Um, I'm currently working on just about all of the concepts that I don't have control over, so take any 3 add that doesn't have the word butterfly in it and imagine some highlights with them. A drill I hit recently that just, felt really good was pixie leg->egg*rpt. So simple, so easy, and so beautiful. I think I'm going to try and get 25 contacts of that next session. When you set the bag and maneuver your legs in such a way that your brain just knows an eggbeater will manifest itself from underneath you, and you don't have to think about it, ugh. Best ever.

Well, officially I have now switched to Quantums.

Let's hope that I start developing some sort of good style because of it.

I hope that I don't have to play too much catch-up, but, in a way, even if I spend the next year catching up you could take it from the point of view that I would be getting more solid and better.

Reason for switching...

1.) I never enjoyed the "gunit" aspect of them.
2.) Quantums are lighter = Faster Dexes...
3.) People commonly complain about those with Gunits, and their style.
4.) Lighter shoe = likely better for your body.
5.) Support Footbag.

The session I had with Johnny today took a while for me to start feeling like I could play again, but by the end of the session all was nearly well. The biggest thing I have to concentrate on is Osis however. I find that everytime I screw up a clipper or toe (Yes, Gunits have a WAY better toe and clipper) it is because I slopped for whatever reason. In Gunits, that was fine, but Quantums no more. So, instead of thinking that I have to get "ajusted" to the shoe to begin playing better, I will have to brush up my form to not need to play out of a slop. Osis however, is something that I simply need to do with better technique even when in balance.

I find that zooming is way harder in Quantums, because you have to know it has stopped on your foot, and that you restart the zoom, rather than just stick your foot out and hope for the best. Osis to stepping again, needs to be done with better precision, but, again by the end of the session it began to improve.

I got some paradox whirls today that were more Vasek like. That means that my thigh was far more horizontal, or parallel to the ground. Since worlds I have been trying to get Anssi whirls to work for my body, but I just never could get my body to function like his without some knee issues. I feel that with this whirl style, I can do it with no pressure on any body part, and it is easier to set into as well.

Whirl War I begins, again...

Oh, did I mention that I suck at blubberman?

Matt Cross is a badass.

I don't think it was, it was a superfly. Unless you're being sarcastic, in which case that would be the second time you've gotten me.

Nice on you for switching to quantums Jay.

I only got around to seeing the pogo swifters tonight. In a word: awesome! 8O So styly! Props on both sides.

I'm also going to make the switch from G-Units to Q3s eventually, so please keep us posted on the differences you notice. I'm curious to see the things you notice during the transition.
