I guess she wouldn't expect a sober guy to try and pick up the girl behind the bar. i was pretty pleased with myself for having a go though :D
I had a smiliar experience this weekend. Only difference where that I was piss drunk and her boyfriend was the other bartender. That was akward..

So aus champs was on the weekend. Mad weekend. It's always the best fun with those guys, it really hurt me coming back to work :( Also I choked massively in competition, don't really care though. That was a painful 2 minutes. 22 drops like whaaaat? Not to mention no sick 3. ouchy. Oh well, had some good shred here and there so I was happy enough :)

More importantly, it's got me psyched for footbag again :D After a lengthy hiatus from any form of dedicated shred I really want to step it up now. My current state of laziness is just lame. So in that vein:

Just had a 2 hour sesh. I'm pumped after champs. It's time to really round out my game

Highlights were:

Rubberman
Blizzard > Omellete > Legbeater BS
Paradon > Barrage BS

Breakthrough with flip ducking... lots of really nice clip > clip ducks and got Diving Clipper > Ducking Clipper rpt with not bad form I think this is the key that could fix my flip clipper form... yeeeaaah!

Still struggling with whirls, esp flip toe set and esp pdx. It just won't work. Might get some tips from Shrednie next time I'm in melb... which should be soon...

DLO's also had a huge improve. They're still fairly high energy so I guess that's the next step. I even got pdx DLO bs :P

Also drilled drifter, double pickup, stepping, atomic, BOPS and all the usuals.

w00t!

Deal! Feel free to discuss shizniz in here when you like. I'm not all like "UR CLuTERIN up Mi B-LOG MANNQ!!!!"

That Q was a genuine typo. Roxxors. I love doritos and salsa. It's making my tummy feel funny though. I also love Sander Kleinenberg right now (although it's an old cd I'm listening to) check him out, good DJ.

Played for an hour. Drilled shit. Paradons, DLO's looking mad tight. When I say mad tight I mean, improved. flip stepping form getting better.

Afterwards I started frying up some onion and egg to put with Mi Goreng noodles but when I went to the cupboard there were no noodles  So I ate fried egg and onion with Nando's sauce... it was weird... God's Kitchen makes me warm in the pants.

Ewe I sounded like an angsty-teen in that last post. I wasn't an angsty-teen... I was an angsty-20-yr-old  And now I half feel like moving back because my roommates are disgusting and after 8 months we still don't have the internet

So this is dejavu... rinse and repeat "I went to a jam and now I want to play lots of footbag again". I did improve since champs though. My strings are much longer and more varied now... don't ask me how, I didn't play that much this year.

Well I've played a lot the last two weeks. Just starting to work on fairy, torque, toe barrage and ducking/diving. Still working on DLO but it's so energy heavy... never seems to get easier for me.

ALSO I got my backpay today so I bought a camera. JVC HD 60gb. Pretty pleased. Well kinda pleased, I wanted this Sony one but it wasn't there when I went back... and I get a super discount from this store so I can't really go anywhere else. I have no money now but meh. Expect filmage.

Haha. 3rd "went to a jam and now psyched to play footbag again" post in one page. Including both last years aus champs, and this years. I'm so lame

Anyway, Aus Champs was on the weekend! Awesome weekend. Unfortunately very quick as had no time off. Flew up fri night, back sun night. Played pretty good considering I've only played around 5 times this year, and didn't choke much in comp, so happy with that. Came 4th in a couple of things, I think. Including circle comp which was cool :) Never played in one before. The trifecta of Phil M, Jeremy and Andrew G took out all placings in almost every event... nearly snuck in with a Sick3 but no cigar.

Highlights:
Free James Squire Golden Ale on the plane, pity it was from a can.
Seeing two British backpackers' reactions to BOTS.
Having an awesome stage for comps and a crowd of around 200 that actually looked interested (Thanks to Ian doing a great job of MCing)
Not choking hugely on stage
Holding my own and getting 4th in request comp
Hitting Blizzard > Fairy Beater > Blurry Whirl in Sick3
Making final circle (Phil, Andrew, Jeremy and Me 8O ) in a tight contest with Dan Boyle, apparently I got through on form in the end (Dan and I couldn't decide who should go through either)
Dan Boyle managing to convince 3 random attractive backpackers to come and watch sweaty boys jump around in short shorts for a whole day. Groupies rock.

Shred:

janiwalker > blurry whirl
whirr > janiwalker
69
S & M Smasher

Played for half an hour tonight, working on basics. Didn't bother pushing more than that as legs were sore, mostly was trying to instill a new habit where I'm actually a footbagger instead of just carrying a footbag around in my pocket. Although this is all, of course, very very familiar...

we definitely should have had a shred battle to see who proceeded to the next round. That would have been sweet. You had some sweet runs in the final too, I'm glad it wasn't me, I would have been nothing more than a spectator.

Yeah shred off for the win :D

Played again tonight :D Managed a full hour this time. Didn't really want to stop but I'm out of shape and my muscles had nothing left by that stage. Just worked on a whole heap of basics. Saw some great form improvements on flip osis and butter. Drilled a lot of BOPs as well as pdx illusion, whirl. My form is gonna be goooood :)

Cheers mate.

Played for half an hour last night, it was so lame. I went out for a steak and beer after work, came home for half an hour or so then went and played footbag. As if that was going to work, big fail. Oh well, at least I continued my 'instilling a habit of shredding' habit. Happy with that I guess. Made a little bit more progress on some basics and filmed some to get some 3rd person perspective, although I haven't watched it yet...

edit: incidentally, tonight (friday night) I organised an awesome curry night. My mates cooked curries and brought them round to my place, ended up with 6 of us and 3 different curries, all sitting on cushions around a coffee table in my kitchen with candles and lanterns, it was awesome! I advocate curry nights for a higher quality of life.

That does sound awesome. Glad to hear you're back into playing too.
