NYC Thanksgiving Weekend Shred

Post by C-Fan »

I'll be in town this Saturday. Bruce is looking into renting space at Dick Shea's. The tentative (ideal) time is 3 pm. I'll keep you posted once Bruce sets up the reservation.

I'll be there for sure, and so will Bruce. I hope other NYFA can come too. If you think you can make it, post in this thread so we can get a headcount.

Can't you come into the city any time before Saturday?

Anyway, I'm down. :P

It sounds like we won't be able to get the 3-5 time slot at Dick Shea's. Most likely Bruce will reserve from 6-8. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it at that time.

Waylon: Is there any place on campus you could get us in?

Yes, I believe so. Most of the facilities at Hunter College will be closed, like the library or computer labs, but I'm sure open spaces like the lobby or hallways will be open. We might have to avoid security guards, but if I explain to them that we will be playing for a set amount of hours they would allow it (and most of them like a good show ).

Hunter College is located at 68th St. by Lexington Avenue, so it's right around Midtown Manhattan.

I don't want to cancel a reservation on the promise of a hallway we might get kicked out of. Do you know of any specific spaces which will for sure be open that we won't be kicked out of? Like a lounge in a dorm for example? If not, I think Dick Shea's is a better option, even though I (probably) wouldn't be able to make it at that time.

No, I can't think of anywhere else. I don't think I know many people that live in the Hunter College dorms. :?

OK, then Dick Shea's it is. I'm probably going to miss it.

Dick Shea's, 6-8. Pascal and Bruce will be there for sure, and I'll also be there, though I probably (80% chance) won't play.
