What are you thankful for?

lol at people who try to somehow deny that the holiday is basically bullshit. Don't bring up the truth or you're the asshole.

Anyways, I will say it is taking a negative thing and turning it positive, so kudos. I'm thankful for me, my good looks, my developing ear and penis size.

2. Nobody is denying the holiday has twisted roots.
3. There is nothing wrong with being thankful.
4. I personally enjoy hearing what people are thankful for.

I think its interesting that the only people who got their panties bunched up over Thanksgiving are people who don't even play footbag anymore.

Like I said earlier, if you want to bag on thanksgiving feel free to do so... in another thread. You just make yourselves look bitter and stupid by doing so here.

But Nick, this topic isn't about thanksgiving. It's just a coincidence that somebody started a topic asking "what are you thankful about?" on a day that happens to be called "thanksgiving."

For the record, I play footbag every week, I've competed at two tournaments in the last 3 months.

I find it interesting that some people think that by making negative and insulting posts complaining about people being negative, they will then do what you want. In my experience, that's the easiest way to derail a topic while looking like you're trying to keep it serious.

I try to be appreciative of all this and more throughout the year, not just Thanksgiving. But since somebody asked, I'm thankful...

-I did not get mauled by a pit bull a few years back.

-my recklessness on my bike has not caused any serious injury or death. I need to be more careful, though.

-my parents found a place to stay after their landlord foreclosed.

-for 3 years of LaRAZA

-to have found a new place with 2 friendly roommates with a great little dog

-for my twin nieces whom I do not see nearly enough.

Sorry, I just read this but lol. Let's get serious. Oh yeah, I don't play footbag anymore. I didn't hit smog bs for the third time and I definitely didn't teach my roommate legover and pendulum tonight.

I don't believe in god or Jesus, but I still use Christmas to spend time with my family and as a reminder to appreciate the people in my life. Yeah, people shouldn't need a reminder for that or a day to remember to be thankful for what we have, but we do. Same with Valentine's day. I don't do the Hallmark stuff, but I use it as a reminder to appreciate the people I love and who love me.

-I feel really glad to have found my place in school over these last two years. It makes my whole life feel better.
-I am thankful that my back is in good condition right now, because I could be in a terrible situation right now if things were slightly (as in 1/8 in.) different.
-I am lucky to have found someone who is loving and appreciates me for who I am.
-I am fortunate to have friends back home who I can still talk to about anything going on in my life. I know that whenever I go home they'll be there for me, and that they'll always be there for me on the other end of the phone.

I am thankful my parents chose not to name me "Adolf Hitler" or "Aryan Nation," and I am also thankful that I know my parents are intelligent enough that if they did give me those names, they wouldn't pretend not to be racists, or alternatively, not realise that naming your children those names makes you look really, really fucking dumb, and racist.
