I know a lot of great footbags and shoes are available online but considering that's not too much of an option for me I'd just like to know if you guys know any good local retail stores preferably in Philadelphia for quality footbags and shoes.

I've gone to Finish Line many times for lavers, and often, they've had some sort of promotion going on that makes the shoes available for cheaper than the best online prices if you buy more than 1 pair. Call around to those stores first to make sure they have the Rod Laver in mesh (although leather is tolerable, if that's all you can get).
many footbag sellers (including myself) accept money orders, and you don't need to do any online stuff (except get addresses and arrange sales via e-mail / chat) to use one of those.

If you want quality footbags, you have to buy from a footbag company or stitcher online OR footbag players/stitchers in your area. So I'd suggest:

This may be a bit too early to suggest, but...
The Funtastiks Summer Classic is a long-running footbag competition held annually during Labor Day weekend at Harrisburg, PA. However, "annual" may be a stretch these days; rumor has it that there will only be two left until the hosts (Joe and Brenda Solonoski) will retire from making this event happen successfully. Anyway, it is this footbag tournament where you can watch some great footbag competitions showcasing plenty of the East Coast's best players, and a whole variety of footbag stitchers selling their bags locally to supporting both the community and the competition (myself included). There are also plenty of marketed footbags sold at the stands of this competition.
I understand that Labor Day weekend is months away from arriving, but it is then the best opportunity to buy some great footbags locally, other than Drew Krause. There is no other place I can think of otherwise, unless you want bags that are used for just plain hacking and circle kicking. Your best bet in getting a great footbag is 1) contacting a stitcher that is near you, 2) contacting and keeping close contact with a stitcher through e-mail outside your region or 3) buying one at an online shop that caters directly toward footbaggers interested in freestyle (Freedom Footbags, Planet Footbag, etc.; those of which that are highly recommended).

They are great beginner bags btw. I don't know what you're playing with now, but unless it is a pro level 32 (which it sounds like you don't have) then it is probably better than what you're using.
