Of all the bags I've felt and played with, I think the bags made by Jay are among the best I've ever gotten. If given the right type of filler to match his bags, I would say they would perform better than mine own.

Jay, I'll get to stitching your bag, hopefully before NYJ. School and job searching are taking up most of my time as well.

6th 32 panel.
I am having the biggest trouble with burrying the last knot. I always try to make the knot, then tuck it through the bleed hole, but it ruins the bleed hole. Shot comes out and the knot pops out. I ruin every bag I make. How can I bury the knot successfully?

You'd be best off with a real-life stitcher to help you.

your location is not specific enough. Where in Upstate NY are you? you should just have that as your location.

I ask because I live in Fredonia (by Buffalo), but I spend some time in Rome, NY, which is right in the middle of the state. Maybe I could help you some time.

if pushing the knot in through a bleed hole ruins the bags, pushing it through is not the problem.

HOW you PREPARE to push it through is leading to the problem.

The reason that pushing the knot through the bleed hole doesn't ruin my bags is because

the bleed hole itself is where the knot is sticking out from.

you want the knot coming out the bleed hole. where is yours coming out from? what are you using to push the knot into the bleed hole? is it a blunt object?

maybe your hex to hex stitches have too deep of a bite? stitch closer to the edge of the panel.

how about this, post some bigger pictures of closeups of your bag while it's still inside out, and then, another picture of right before you push a knot through.

you're either going to need some much better pictures, or some one-on-one help to get through this.

Josh, send me a pm and I'll try to help you out in your dilemma. Like how Matt detailed in his post, give me some accurate descriptions and pictures of where your trouble spot is, and I can give you some good advice on how to improve your final knot.

the last knot can be troublesome josh c. i'll film my steps right after the filler goes in and show you how i tie the knot and poke it through, which will be before saturday

Hey turtlesacker, you should use a different template, with larger pentagons and smaller hexagons. You also need some more gather...

Heres my 8th bag. Definately my best. A lot less gather than my last, and much more consistent. My last panel is still poor though, with big bleed holes where I made the last knot.

Sorry Matt, I didnt take a picture before tucked in the knot. I was just excited about almost finishing.
