We should have finished by February 20, 2009. A few details are needed to be worked out in how exactly we're going to distribute.
Alright so I've been lazy with the updates, but so far I decided to search for help, and now I am currently in Boise, ID with Zeb helping me out. This is a big deal, as Zeb knows a lot more than I do, and we've been working hard for good links, and clean edits. This means that we're starting from scratch, and what you saw in the DVD Teaser, is going to be blown out of the water from what we've started on. But the trailer will speak for itself.
So now the DVD is going to be presented by an EZ Production.
Here are the tournaments that are featured in the DVD:
SoCali Jam 2008 -finished 1/1-
Chaos Green Cup 2008 -finished 1/1-

Here are some questions that I have been asked. Just to let you know Zeb came in mid way with the project and I don't have the time to worry about exactly when I should use I/we. But all in all I consider Zeb a huge deal in the project and would like to thank him so much for the help.
-If you would like me or Zeb to answer a question please email [email protected].
Question: Why did you decide to film/edit?
Reply: Simply Eli made me want to film/edit. His footage of shred provided me with an inspiration to footbag, but later his art style inspired me to film and edit.
Question: Can I still purchase the teaser DVD, and get that phat deal?
Reply: No, sorry it was a short amount of time to save up for another tournament or in this case a plane ticket to Boise, ID so Zeb could help me out with this DVD. (Which help fund part of New Years Jam, and paid for gas at the Vegas Jam) So in away, I guess these might some day be collector's item
Question: Why not release the footage for free? (Basically the person made it sound like I was trying to be rich off of footbag).
Reply: I spent money to fly out to 7 different tournaments and look at the list. To be honest I'm lucky I'll make any money out of this to go to another tournament. I don't see a problem with high quality footage, that I spent filming. I have already amassed easily 100+ hours of footbage. So that means on my mini dv tapes I need to upload roughly 85+ hours of footage from my mini dv tapes. The other 15+ hours of hard disk drive footage is uploaded.
Then I am going to have to sit through the footage, watch and evaluate 100+ hours of footage. After that I need to search for music, fonts, and ideas of what to do (which I do daily whenever I can). From there I can begin to edit the footage and rewatch over and over and over again. I spent roughly 40+ hours just on the DVD teaser as I had to learn and find out how to do what.
So a quick tab.
100 (rough rough estimate)hours footage
88 hours uploading (hard diskdrive doesn't take that long)
100 Rewatch footage (minimum)
40 hours editing (for teaser)
-- editing (I decided to start a new)
328 Hours(roughly) and the project just started. This is not even including the time to get to the tournaments, spent at, and time lost at shredding. I'm sorry if the price of 25-30 dollars seems steep, but I aim to make it feel like its worth buying. But like stitchers, I'd like some small compensation for all this footage.
Also if you noticed, I'm never going to make my money back nor do I intend to. I just want to make enough to go to another tournament, and maybe inspire some kid to footbag.
Question: Why might up and comings be left out?
Reply: This is a DVD that I am trying to market to footbaggers, and I want them to feel like every cent they paid for is worth it. So I heard a lot of complaints about intermediate/novice players taking up some space, so unless the run was epic . . . sorry can't fit you in. When I get time, I'll make a up and coming video to be release for free online. This is all pending, and we'll see what decision Zeb and myself come to.
Question: What is the point of this DVD?
Reply: Really, its one of the few huge projects in my life that I've taken upon myself to do, and keep trudging on despite set backs and what not. So its a big deal for me to finish this, and would bring me a sense of accomplishment once its finished. Oh yeah, also Jay Boychuck a good friend of mine was so excited at the idea of this that its kind of my gift to him. Not to mention I'm trying to make this something people want to watch, and utter in the same sentence as all the other great footbag dvds.

People to thank (credited later)
Steve Goldberg - Supplying me with two nice cameras, helping me with the sport, and always pushing me in the right direction. Oh yeah and footbag.org
Zeb Jackson - Helping putting both our ideas into editing to make something we're both proud of.
Jay Boychuck - Without his support, and enthusiasm I probably would have never even considered taking this project.
