pps: for those who weren't there: during the after party the whole stadium was lit up due to construction work for a big concert the next day. we were allowed 5 minutes down on the field. so this is the result of barely 5 minutes of footage! huge props to jakob for rippin' it up on command!

awesome video!
I understand this vid is probably for the uninitiated, but is there a version without the bouncing hoop? I'd love to see it without.
Loved the camera movement, made the video really enjoyable. I remember watching you guys film it, wishing we all could have been shredding down there under the big lights. Nice stuff!

Love the shred, love the location, love the HD, love the shots... but that bouncing hoop really kinda killed it for me. :(

Gotta second Andrew's request for a non-hoop version.

AHHHHHHHH!

well, i changed it in the text next to the video. i guess i'll replace the video on vimeo once it is ready - on youtube it isn't possible, but at least it is not a clickable link that is misspelled, but in the video.

well, thank you all for the positive remarks!

too bad you are disliking the highlight on the footbag. maybe when i replace the video on vimeo, i'll do a version without the hoop. i'll think about it... what do others think? keep the comments coming!

I thought it was pretty fucking epic!
Cool that somebody uses Vimeo. I gonna start using that aswell!

I also didn't like the loop. For example on the swirl tricks, the dexes where much tighter than the loop which made it look strange.

How did you move the camera that fast around him? Running? It looked sick!

See you both in Berlin!!!

I loved the video, but I also agree about the circle thingy. Could you just increase the contrast of just the bag? That would be interesting. Like highlighted bag, but not, because highlighted bag is annoying too :P

My favourite was the fast panning. Were you wearing one of those suits? It's super inspiring. Also, I'm glad someone pointed out the error in the link, 'cause I tried to visit your site and it didn't work so I jstu gave up. Gonna go check it out now.

Uh, I guess the only other criticism I could think of was that I saw your shadow from one angle when you panned around.

<<<<<<Odd man out: I loved the hoop. It was kinda distracting, but also shows just how the physics of the bag works with the acceleration and deceleration of the bag at its peak.

Awesome HD!!!

thanks for that first of all.
I think that it's cooler if the bag is highlighted like a glowing bag as it is in budas best, than this way, because you can see the position of the bag and the dexes better. but it's also nice to see something different being tried!
looking forward to more!
and cheers!!!!

I thought the hoop would have been cool for a close up, and then the hoop was gone. I don't think it was necessary for the whole video.

Really fun watch though, thanks a ton.

SICK!!

I loved the hooping, it was like a football freestyle vid because you could see the thing for once.

Great stuff, really impressive.

And Jakob's shred is looking tight.

Awesome video all around.

i also thought about highlighting the bag with an area of increased contrast, but decided against it - it just looked too much like cgi, this way it seems more obvious that his game is "real", and the hoop just a highlight. the other reason i decided against it is, that i didn't do a good enough job at tracking the bag, and with the motion blur of the hoop my lack of precision is less blatant.

yeah, erik, you're right the shadows are a shame (actually these scenes are temporarily zoomed in in post production by 180%, so i tried my best at hiding us... after 180 % you just loose too much detail).
and yes, the steadier shots were done by marci , with his glidecam (a steadycam for less heavy cameras, up to 5 kilos) incuding the vest, the faster ones were by me, without the suit, and turned upside down so i could be as fast and as close to the ground as possible.

keep the comments coming ;) and don't forget to rate/like on youtube and vimeo respectively!

when you log in at vimeo (it's free, and they don't bug you or anything) there is a dowload link on the bottom right for the HD quicktime.

i'll look into uploading a version without the hoop soon.
