GRASS 2008 (Jorden, Bevier, Cleaver, more!)
after nearly 9 months of sitting on my external hard drive, i decided to finally make a video with the footage i shot at grass 08. this decision came about when i finally bothered to get an actual editing program. last night (well 2 nights ago now technically) i sat down to learn this program's ins and outs and in the process produced my first entry into the world of actual editing.
the main reason i chose this footage instead of the gigs of other footage that i have is simple, to bolster enthusiasm for this year's grass.
GO TO GRASS 2009!!!!!!!
i have gone through hell and high water to upload this video and because it uses someone else's music i wasn't able to youtube it. this vimeo link is temporary until i can find a decent permanent host. in the meanwhile, enjoy it from what i think is the best streaming site online.
without any further ado, here it is.

edit: the original video quality is MUCH higher, a zipped, full-quality file will be available soon for download

Sweet vid Paul. Good variety with the players you chose and the music seemed to fit just right.

I don't know why you can't use other people's music on youtube, I've done it with two of my vids at least and they went through. I think if you have the music in the credits and/or as tag words, you're cool. Or maybe it's just certain artists care and others don't?
Anyway, awesome video, it was so weird how everyone's style matched the beat or music that was going on at the time. That was probably some of the coolest Cleaver shred I've seen, and the slow-mo went great with the music. Props on committing to getting this out eventually.

firstly, thanks to the hundreds of people who have watched this video since i posted it, it really brings the scale of the footbag community into sharp focus, seriously 221 views in 2 days and counting!
special thanks go to people who took the time to comment here in this thread and in the rochester blog
@chris, there is something called waveform analysis, it simply scans the audio of any video posted, if it matches (like a fingerprint) anything in a list of waveforms that youtube does not allow (because the artists disallow it), it rejects the video, giving you the option to mute the audio, change the music, or delete it. the reason your file was accepted was because the audio on it didnt match one of the "reject now!" waveforms they have on file. there is actually a published (growing) list of copywritten music that is allowed.
as for the "weird" thing with the shred matching up with the beat, this was no coincidence. every clip was edited to match the audio, its not just your perception, it was completely intentional. expect every video i put out now to do this (the only reason the first one i put out didnt do this is because the editing program didnt have the ability to change the speed of the video.)
