Bear Bag Review

So I assume this is the section where I can put this kinda stuff. First I'll describe the specific bag I have and then how it plays...

Bag: The bag I have is purple normal fabric for the pentagons and grey new shiny fabric for the hexes. It's also not one of his very newest bags but it is not that old either. I've had it for about a month now. It is of medium weight I don't feel that it's particularly heavy or light.

Break In: almost non-existent. It came ready to play for me. Some other people said that it was a little slippery for the first session or two but after that the fabric got more grip so if your picky it will probably take one or two sessions of just playing with it until it becomes perfect. I did not have to do any bag massage or anything like that though.

Durability: It seems to be very good. Like I said I've played with it for a little over a month now regular use. On concrete and cement and I do not notice any pin holes at all. It looks pretty much exactly like I first got it so I do not see this bag breaking anytime soon.

Flopiness: This bag is very floppy making it great for my clipper play. It flattens out very nicely. I'm in general a clipper player so I can't say for certain how it plays toe wise but yeah for clipper stuff it's totally great. You can make some amazing catches with this bag. Because of the stall ability it also lends itself well to longer strings. If I was looking for a bag just to do single crazy set tricks with lots of tight dexes this wouldn't be my very first choice but it's not going to hold you back or anything like that. I can do jani walkers just as good with this bag as with any of the others I own.

So yeah the bag is great and is one of the two I play with regularly. I have also seen lots of brian's other bags and they all seem great. His stitching has come a long ways and his newest bags are top notch. I play with them all the time and have never seen any break prematurely or anything like that. The shiny fabric is great to play with, it has no break in time as far as floppyness is concerned. It might take one or two sessions to get rid of the slight slickness but I didn't really even notice that so it's only really if that kinda thing affects you.

just wanted to lay down another positive review!

brian sent me one of his bags, and plenty of the weird fabric to do some stitching myself (I owe him a bag now).

I sessioned with the bag yesterday.

no necessary breakin. Plays well from the get go.

If you've used one of my bags, and you like how quickly they are playable, but maybe you found them too heavy, you should definitely pick up a brian bag.

the material is super cool and plays really well.

I'm not sure why or how, but bearbags seem to be easier to clean than other bags. I usually have to squeeze out about a dozen times before the water runs clear, but with my bearbag, it's more like half a dozen. wwwwhat!

I bet your other bags have lead fill and brians have less lead in them than your others

I also used mt nice led in that bag, it doesn't produce that wierd led stuff as much. I think the color is from the purple on your bad too, it is a microsuede that is prone to bleed! I only have two fabrics like this, but they play sooooo welll.

Hey,

Another positive review of Mrbear's bags.

I recently traded with him and I have a plethera of bags to review.

His NEWEST ATOMICS cannot be beat. When I bought my first bag, it was from Fletcher Funk and until I kicked with my bearbag I hadn't played with a bag nearly as nice as his. I love my new bags and I wll get myself some more soon.

Just got my Bear Bag in the mail today. Wow. Just wow. Super consistent stitching, perfect size, and very playable already. Only sessioned with it for about an hour and its already one of my favorites. Thanks Brian.

I'll give a positive review as well.

I bought a bag from Mr. Bear at last year's Chicago NYJ. It was a green-turquoise hex and "shiny" brown microsuede pents. Although the bag "pancakes" and is super floppy, it plays and controls really well. I've enjoyed a lot of solo sessions with my bag, and it looks really striking to the eye against dirt and concrete.

The bag has gotten slightly bigger than when I bought it, and it is definitely a beauty. I love it.

Mr. Bear was also very gracious to give me some really nice black microsuede as well, so I guess I owe him a bag for that kind deed.

waylon, i just made a bag from some fabric you gave me

whenever you have extra time or an extra bag i would still love to trade with you!!! my all facile bags keep their shape quite nicely now, and still stall great

It's great to see all these positive reviews!!

The Bear Bags look great! I saw them for the first time at the Vegas Jam. Daryl just pocketed one the other day so I will soon know his thoughts on the way it performs. (I haven't been shredding because I have some serious back issues...it's breaking my heart...but I do get in a kick circle about once a week.)

We are selling Bear Bags on the Freedom Footbags website now, so I expect we will get some positive reviews. Sent the first one out to Spencer Behm on Tuesday (remember the kid who used to shred with Penske...who took first in Sick One at CSS3 with fairy ducking DLO?) He's back!

Just so you all know, Brian has switched to tungsten at our request.

been playing with my bearbag for a few weeeks its awesome

its is a nice radiation bag black as the man color then pink yellow orange and blue it was playable out of the mail and it has not become too mushy which i like it has no pinholes so i am expecting it to be a durable bag these bags stall really nice and are good for people of all levels starter intermediate and advanced
