Anyone up for kicking with Capt. Riefer this Saturday evening other than Caleb? Any ride possibilities? Ian? Tripp? Come on, you, know you want to guys...

Tripp, if you come, I'll teach you my secret to falling on my face when attempting blurriest. Chicks dig it.

Or Jake? Are you out there somewhere?

What makes you think I'm interested in chicks?

I'll see if I can get freed up that day.

I have not yet contacted Caleb about Friday but I am down for it. I am also down for Saturday. Now, do I have a car? No. But if Josh or Caleb can swing it I am down to kick.

I don't get off till 6 on Friday and my schedule is more open on Saturday.

Yo! I'm in vancouver, heading back Saturday but I don't think I'll make it up for the sess.

So far I've gotten 2 speeding tickets in 2 days and I owe the State of Washington $285 with one more road trip to go. Wish me luck!

Wow.

How about that email from Angela, eh? How do you know her and what do you think about her suggestion? (I'll let you share)

Wow, yeah how about that email?

Turns out Ian and I both have a friend at the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, and our mutual contact didn't know that Ian and I knew each other until she found steelcityfreestyle.com and I'm guessing watched our videos? (since our names aren't listed anywhere on the site) Either way, she also read about the plight of our lack of good winter shred spots, and offered up the museum theater as a possible location, as long as we're family friendly.
Sooo, this has yet to develop, but keep an eye out for winter footbag possibilities at Pittsburgh's Children's Museum!

Hey,

I edited the site and put up a humorous remix of your pulled video, Jake. I started something more serious but I couldn't resist trying this song that Jess keeps playing and... well the rest will haunt me in infamy! :)

Kicked with Matt, first time in almost a week. The atomic magic wasn't there, and neither were the drifters. I decided to make the most of a session that clearly was a warm up (despite the freezing weather) for whatever transpires tomorrow.

Personal Highlights:
* New move FS symposium legbeater from right toe. About ten times.
* New move FS symposium legbeater from left toe. Twice.
* New move Weak near bf swirl from same clipper

Kicked with Matt.

Wretched session for me. I did not stretch or warm up, despite schooling symposium moves in the cold yesterday, after performing hard labor for the last month, overcoming a cold and staying out dancing until 4am last night.
So I did my best. Which ended up as studying some ideas so that I can work on them once my health and energy level is back up.

highlights:
*New style of twirls. Much more gyro reverse whirls. Cleaner and more consistent in form among the two sides.
*New Trick. Footed weakside far butterfly swirl at least once.

I am so not ready to go back to work tomorrow with just one day off. At least it appears that Zee will be up and running again on Friday. I can't wait to get things back to normal so I have time and energy to program again and spend more time with Flash and XML. XML is awesome and I look forward to seeing what I can do with it and Java.

Also, my last circuit building class is on Tuesday. I am looking forward to ending this chapter and returning to electronics with some well-planned projects.

Too tired to leave my house but my circuit building teacher is performing across the street.

Time to get my learn on. Can't wait to go back to bed.

Met a footbagger while kicking Matt. His name is Bob and he learned how to kick with Tripp.

I am beyond tired. So weak from work. Kicked anyway.

Highlights:
* NEW TRICK: Symposium atomic legover. Now that's a hard 4 add.
* Better quantums
* Almost hit symposium quantum set

He just transfered to Pitt... Used to kick with you and Jordan Wong (?)

Forgot to mention I strung out of both symposium atomic inf. and legover. I hope that the first trick becomes a regular part of my game.

Edit: I also cleaned my sets up big time. Set straight up, parallel to my head, rather than towards it. Yay.

Haven't played since Thursday. Kept meaning to solo shred and hit some combos Ken suggested. Instead I slept about the weekend. Socialized a bit. Programmed all day Saturday.

This installation for Zee that I am working on is killing me, but it's just about finished. So, that's cool. Also, I finally paid off my debt that I accrued by going to Europe during the Summer. So, I have good reason to be happy. Also, there may be a very cool opportunity for a footbag Jam in March. Jake will let us all know more about it as things get finalized.

Hopefully this rest will pay off and my game will be solid when next I kick. I half want to take another week off or more, just so that I lose my habits so I can build some new, better ones. I've been putting on a lot of weight though. Five-ten pounds of muscle. Once this install is done I need to be careful not to turn into a butter ball.

Exhausted. I feel like a shell. Not enough time off to remember what to get excited about. Having a hard time keeping up with my own self-interest, much less prioritizing. I spent a good amount of time yesterday building code for a potentially useful software composition/performance tool, but I feel slightly disillusioned. So, I spent today developing audio material with professional grade audio software and tried to put things back into perspective. I suppose that my knowledge of audio software and my own programming ideas show a lot of potential, but sometimes I feel about them the way I feel about my footbag skills. Unsatisfied.

But, I did go to Europe. I did build everything that popped in my head this weekend (that I tried). I can even almost visualize how to hit torque dyno, repeat (a drill Ken suggested a year and a half ago). I just have to keep my chin up. My 30th year has been the best year of my life. I need to get myself to a mental place where I am ready to abandon it, come January.

Oh, and this made made me laugh so hard when I was at home, drinking with friends from work last night. This, and Jelly Donut (thanks again Ken and Age, for intoducing me to him).

I think it helped that I was drunk! :D Reminds me of the 90's.

Kicked with Matt. Can't type too well 'cause my hands are cold. May be my last session with another individual for weeks. Either I will solo shred and school some of the things I want to work on or I will further develop my programming chops. Oh yeah, I am a moderator now, so I need to try to find some time to settle in to this role as well. I have never spent too much time on here though I have witnessed some inappropriate behavior. I suppose it will be satisfying to have the ability to reinforce a positive atmosphere here.

Highlights:
Matt: Symposium Shooting Paradox Eggbeater.
Etc.

Me:
*Tripwalk bsos
*Bunch of tripwalks on both sides
*Several drifters to PM and frozen drifter on one side. The other drifter needs special attention.
*Atomics are looking strong again on both sides. Strong and hippy. Some bsos stuff a couple of times.
*Stepping sets are better than ever. Hit weak ripwalk and butterfly-strong ripwalk in the same string.
*Sort of hit symposium atomic and spinning eclipse but the eclipses were wonky and refraction-ish.
*Weak side and strong side spin are coming along. Bsos'd once. Clean, straight sets. I spent most of my time schooling the weak side and that is because I was just spinning to early causing the bag to hit my opposite arm on its way up. Each time the set was really close and straight up.
*I may have hit stepping far symposium reverse whirl-whirl, but it was so much lower than far symposium reverse whirl and too fast to remember if the symposium happened. It was first try and not bother with it again. It was mostly to test my strength on y strong stepping set.

These C-Fan challenges from my thread in the respective section are harder than I would like, but they are all manageable and keeping me sharp with my footbag alloted time (which is practically non-existent atm because of work, work and work.)

Oh yeah. I kicked ripstein about 8 times today, and hit sealed some controlled, weakside swirls. Ripstein feels really aggressive and fun. So do quantum sets and symposium atomics. With some work I hope get atomics to a point where they always feel good and strong. I intend to get my entire game to this point. Wish I had more time. Nah. Everything I am doing right now is challenging and fun. I just have to stay organized and patient.

I am interested in kicking but my schedule is tight. Matt is out of town, Jake is may be taking some time off to rest his knee, and I have not heard from Nils and Tyler in ages. So... let me know when you are going to be around because I like playing footbag, especially with others.

Hopefully I will be over my cold(s) by then as well. Working in a really unhealthy, environment is brutalizing me this winter and I am lucky if I can afford to kick once a week. Sigh.

Alrighty. Well, I will give you a call when I am in town. Should be there from Christmas day until Sunday. I am guessing Friday or Saturday would be best. Don't worry if your shred isn't your best, mine probably shouldn't be after not playing for like 2 months. Something is better than nothing!

As of about 12:09 I have hit swirl X3-PM on my weak swirl side
As of about 12:11 I have hit swirl X3 on my strong side, either to a hand catch or something else. I forget.

So that takes care of one of Ken's challenges.

After a brief break:
As of 12:26 AM I hit swirl- rev. swirl- hand catch on my weak swirl side
As of 12:26 AM I hit swirl- rev. swirl- hand catch on my strong swirl side

After a break I tried some drifters and they started out sharp but quickly deteriorated.

I started piston-ing my knee up with the pressure I get from planting my setting foot and pushing off the ground. I think if I can learn to wait a bit longer before turning my hip, it will benefit my clipper set DLO's, Drifters and perhaps add a variation to my Torques.

EDIT:
2:37 PM
I just hit swirl X3-pm on my weaker side again. It took about 15 minutes over warming up and a 5 minute break folding laundry. Then I hit it first try.
at around 2:15 PM I hit swirl X3 on my strong side. If I can remember quickly. I wasn't paying as much attention to that side.
I also hit weaker sided swirl to whirl a couple of times, which is a nice new link.

EDIT:
1:46, Dec. 26
Ripstein-hand-drop
Ripstein-drop

Swirls on both sides but not as good as the other day. I have a couple good ideas though.
