I think there aren't any topics specificaly for this yet, so here it goes.
I've done some research and looked around on the net for materials that I should use. It seems like everyone here is using ultrasuede light. I went to the feilds website and saw a bunch of other types. So, is there a dramatic difference? And if i bought the sample pack, how many bags could I stitch? ( probably going to start with 8 panel bags and work my way up).
oh, and if i live in canada, what shipping should i use?? lol i'm such a newb. Because i don't think i'm cont. u.s, but i don't want to pay extra if i don't have to.

Well it would be great to save a poor soul because your in the same situation I was in. 
Personally I thinks you should stick to using USL. Other fabrics like the Ultra suede soft are only different because theyre thicker and a bit heavier than USL.
About the sample pack, I bought one and it was basically a waste of money. I could only make like 3 bags out of the USL and the rest of the fabric was basically practice for stitching but no bags I could use.
I highly suggest buying the 18 piece variety pack of USL because you get alot more fabric, I think its like 5'' by 7'' and 18 pieces. You can also make a whole lot of specific color combos with this pack, so I do suggest this.

Two strong colors from Fields Fabrics can do you a lot of good for sewing purposes. It's just a matter of studying patterns and sewing them out.
The "scraps" package, listed under "other ultrasuede products" can do you some good for variety, but make sure you aren't mixing ultrasuede light with soft when making bags (unless you're properly separating pentagons and hexagons for certain materials). That package doesn't net you a lot of ultrasuede light sometimes, but it is a good and affordable training buffer to refine your stitching.

is there anyone willing to sell me some ultra suede light in a small portion? i was on field fabrics and i am new at sewing bags and i think $42.?? is bit steep for me. i dont mind spending money on fabric but 36''X45'' is a lot of fabric that i might not use. i am sick of trying to sew 32's with old shirt and rag so i want to move up so if anyone would sell me a smaller portion of ultra suede light would be pretty awesome. i'm not looking trying to cheat anyone by buying it from them at discount, i'm just trying to get a smaller portion and see if this hobbie/craft is something i'm interested in.

you don't have to order a whole yard! you can order as little as 1/8th of that.
in the amount part of the order, instead of writing "1", write ".125". or, 1/8.
I recommend you order 3 colors in that amount. (country cream, flash red, and royal blue are my faves). Should cost just a little over $20 after shipping.

oh! i see, ha! that makes things a lot easier. see, when i went on the website it only gives you the pricing for a whole yard and i was like woah. thank you so much man. starting making my first 32 last night : ) about 9 panels in and its turning out pretty well for my first, some stitching is a bit uneven but i think for the most part she'll look good. some micro suede stuff i found at a Joanne Fabrics in my town. Not sure what to fill it with tho once i get to that point. : )
