Mac -VS- PC

In your opinion, which one is better? I just see this commercial on tv way too much, and I'd like to hear some supporting arguments about these two notebooks.
In my opinion, the Mac is better, especially for audio usage and the like, but I haven't got to use a mac that much. I have a PC right now.

I have been a PC user forever, got an iMac last year and I love it.

It has never crashed or frozen, and I accidentally knocked it off my desk (causing the screen to crack a little) and it still runs great. I'm no expert, but for everyday use I much prefer my mac. There are just lots of random perks that PCs don't have that make it so much better.

Also it's prettier than and PC and has no tower

I think both have strengths and it really depends on what you want to be doing.

I think your first step should be to dismiss the views of anybody who tells you that one is terrible and that the other is amazing. These people are idiots who have no idea what they're talking about (the same thing goes for most consumer products - especially beer. Disregard brand loyalists and dogmatists because they have no useful opinions to offer you).

Then decide what the main things you want the computer for and look at your options. "PC" is also a fairly large selection, compared with Mac.

I use PCs both at work and at home. Every graphic designer and music producer I know uses a mac (or at least almost everyone).

I use BOTH:

Here is the low down:

PC Pros:
- Cheap
- Fast
- Compatible with most available software
- 90% of the market are on them
- Parts are cheap and available
- Support is all over the net and available quickly from PC retailers

PC Cons:
- Prone to viruses, attacks, and hacks
- If you want more power you have to shell out $$$ for it. This includes peripherals, and audio.
- Graphics cards are expensive for things like creating "Print" media
- They crash
-Cannot view or edit Mac files very easily

Mac Pros:
- Super drive can view PC files
- Can run some PC software with the right tuning
- Graphics card built in (but can upgrade to better card)
- The standard apple monitor is way better than most advanced PC monitors
- Most print vendors use Mac to run their print jobs

Mac Cons:
- 10% of the market
- Can have extension conflicts that require hours of exhaustive investigation
- Prone to worms
- Software is limited as compared to PC
- Mac fonts are not editable on PC (which is a con for PC designers)
- Parts are mostly all inclusive, so you break one, you buy another one, or ship it off for repair.
- Initial computer and parts are expensive

After years of working on both (for my job) the main reason I use PC is for Web Design as most users are on PC. I use Mac strictly for testing and for Print. That's about it.

Personally I ownthe "BlackBerry Storm" as opposed to the iPhone, simply for the multiprocessor that the iPhone lacks.

But I think both are high quality accessories.

Mac smartest and fastest, but as for me, it is bad, because such software as mathcad, autocad is not ease to find for mac

For a long time that maddox article pretty much sums up my dislike towards Macs and Mac fanatics. I don't have much of a problem with the actual products its just the people that shit me up the wall.

Cnick946, I'm only student, but in studying process we may also often use some programs, which i hate:evil:
And if you want use your computer for media (audio\video\photo\image), then, certainly, Mac rule.

I prefer PC because it gives me more options.

I can easily go to a Fry's store, buy a cpu, motherboard, some cards, and a case... then put a computer together in my own home.

I hate Macs for the same reason i hate Gateway, HP, Dell, etc; because they design their parts to be used with their parts. Upgrading these brands is a pain because most of the parts are glued to eachother inside, or they don't fit with industry standard sizes cause they gotta be "unique". Especially HP... you have to remove half the plastic front panel in order to get a standard sized power supply to fit in the opposite end of the case. This doesn't seem to be helping my argument that PC is better though.
