Well I only got asked to be in it a week before filming, so I don't really know the answer to that. My impression from all the stuff they sent me though was that they already came up with the idea and even drafted story boards before trying to actually find some footbaggers to be in it. They probably would have been better off getting soccer players instead too

Two production companies had 'competed' to get the contract several weeks before this company came into the picture, one of which contacted me to find footbaggers for the roles. It got as far as payment figures and tentative arrangements before Subway pulled out from using either company. Presumably they came to this company with the ideas worked out from the first meetings with the other companies, and reached some kind of agreement.
I think the first company that contacted me had some idea of footbag before and had come up with the idea, and it was then used for the final thing.

From what i heard from the boys though, they did wonders in the editing room

Yeah it took a stupid amount of takes to make that film. I also ate so much subway I thought I was going to throw up, and then they basically cut out all the footage of me eating.

This is almost certainly the last commercial I'll be in unless it features real footbag and doesn't involve me looking like a pervert (although luckily they cut that out and only Dan looks like a pervert).

Or possibly when I'm a poor student again I'll be happy to do anything for money

Also I had to get up at like 4:30 am (I think it's getting earlier every time I tell this story) to catch a ridiculously early flight, and then spent about 5 hours sitting around at the studio watching them film a sandwich.

You should be happy that they choose you to film it.
As you say it could be any football player.
Just be happy to have adventure and some money.

I actually really liked the commercial. It made me want to eat that sandwich, it was different from other commercials, and it looked fun. And even though footbag wasn't mentioned or even really played, it's one of those things that doesn't hurt the sport, and can add credibility/exposure.

For example, sometimes when I play in public somebody will be like: "hey, it's like in 'She's All That'", and I can say: "yeah, I know that guy, he's a friend of mine. We both compete in footbag tournaments." People can do the same with this commercial. It's kinda like an icebreaker.

So yeah, I liked it a lot. Good jorb.
