The Moshing Set

Post by mosher »

Hey guys,

I did my best to hit a cripwalk on film tonight, I footed it a few times, I figured that was good enough to give you a taste of what the set is like.

Sorry the film is so choppy, my camera has a really low framerate.

Here is the link to the video:

http://www.footbag.org/media/344/moshing.mpg

Oh and I have a way to justify calling it cripwalk (which I am).

I use the term with the hopes of reclaiming the term and changing it's connotation to one that is positive and fun!

Fuck the stupid gangsters, it's our word now!

I absolutely refuse to not use this word.

It has the word ripwalk in it and so does my trick! come oooonnn!

Fairy Symposium Swirling Stepping? It's hard to describe this set technically...
Fairy Symp. Swirling Pixie?
Wiggle mit Symp Swirling between dexes?

Good set. And the one on your right side has such clean dexterities... and definately 3x dex...

Big props Tom.

That's Toe set Symposium Swirling Miraging (with stepping style).

Good work Tom, try to hit Symp Swirling DLO --- and Symp Swirling Eggbeater!

And that set was so high that you'll hit Moshing Barfly in no time!!

There's no Fairy there! It's Toe Symposium Swirling Stepping / Toe Symposium Swirling ss Quantum. Really nice set! Props! I'd like to see something more than Butterfly out of it, for example Mirage or ss Mirage ;).

Yeah... you are right... There isn't fairy... Now I see it when I watched it performed by Tom on his left side, in slowmotion... Befor that I watched it slomoed only on Tom's right side  And there is a illusion of Fairy set.... My bad.

Hey, I guess I shoulda mentioned what it is.

When I do it right "Moshing" is toe set symposium swirling pixie/stepping/in to out dex with other leg.

You can fiddle with the timing of it.
Sometimes I do the swirl and the in-out dexes very crisply and separated, sometimes they occur at the same time. It is a really natural movement when it works.

Also, if you keep moving the timing of the dexes to the point where you start the pixie just slightly before the swirl leg comes through it works out like a beta frantic turned on it's side sorta.

It's a fun set! Go try it everyone!

Oh, try toe swirling first to get the motion. You may find symp toe swirling is actually easier too.

Then moshing is the symp toe swirl and then you open up over it like a late pixie.

Have fun. :P

Whoa, blast from the past!

Damon - the set is actually toe symp swirling pixie (or stepping, however you want to picture the motion), if the trick has a fairy at the start it becomes Jorden's 'Levitating' set, though most agree mines harder.

I should upload all my old .org videos to youtube, some of them are amazing, who the fuck did I think I was?? haha
