i thought a bit about moves im not so good at, and how i could adjust my form to make them work for my body... and found a way i could hit torque. the video of jorden and david that got posted recently inspired me, doing it midtime. so, i finally hit torque flip side, and bsos, using that method.

torque bsos!!!!!!

i had my best session ever tonight in the yoga room at superior athletic club. my mom got me and yogan in for free with her sweet hookups. needless to say, it was a good place to play. we started out in the locker room, which was like 15 x 15 feet carpeted, and was awesome until a grumpy old man kicked us out in the nude. its hard to hit pdx whirl bsos with a bare shriveled up wiener 5 feet from you. anyways, we moved into the yoga room and continued play for another hour and a half, equaling to a two hour session, pushing it to the max. had some great highlights, and hit stuff ive been wanting for a long time. it felt great to have good highlights from both tow, clipper, and transition moves, like my game is balanced. yogan played great too... he has such a wide move selection, i know hell be one of the best. he probably wont write in his footblog, but he hit doubledown swirl, and a easy 7. that sounds ridiculous, but it was a spinning paradox miraging refraction. (it wasnt like a dada curve... the refraction was clean, deep, and totally seperate) anyways, here are my highlights.

-barfly bs. (read my first post ever if you want.. i say im "working on it". it was actually a paradon, and i was nowhere close haha) dream move for a long time. yogan says they were clean.
-pixie paradon. hit it before, not clean, and before it was a fluke.
-downtime paradons bs. again, stated clean.
-blurry whirl midrun, pretty controlled.
-pixie whirl bs.
-double legover bsos
-dimwalk>blur>rpt.>string
-smoke bs
-whirl>ripwalk>rpt
-flip pdx drifter
-pdx mirage>smear>dimwalk>rpt
-lots of pdx whirls

for fun, and honestly came close to:

-reactor
-food
-superfly (dexes, no catch)
-flip torque
-stepping ss drifter, and blurry drifter, bs

so, im spent.

still no ps whirl. i think im not ready yet, but its super fun to try when im in the zone. footbag.

another big session/day

-barfly midstring, bs
-paradox torque
-lots and lots of pdx whirls
-6 contacts of tripless
-pdx mirage>toe symple swirl bs

invented some drills, and came super close to both:

-dimalk>ripwalk>stepping ss mirage>rpt.
-stepping legover>dimwalk>stepping legover>parkwalk>rpt.

-so close to food, blurriest, ps whirl, and reactor
-got one step over the neck.

well, the saga of my epicly messed-up toes isnt over. it just got freakier.

me and yogan were having a normal session at the city hall in talent. everything was fine, and it ended. we were messing around in the grass afterwards, and i was barefoot. because of my past surgeries, my second and third toes on my left foot are completely stiff, and cannot bend.

as i made an awkward step to try and kick the bag, my second toe go caught on the ground. because of my weight and forward motion, combined with ithe toe's inability to bend, the toe literally just snapped in half. it was the most random, unexpected thing that could possibly happen, and me and yogan had no idea what to do. the only way i can describe the sound and appearance of my toe would be a carrot snapped in half, slightly attached by the skin at the bottom. so we grabbed a tshirt and put alot of pressure on it, as it was bleeding alot.

i called an ambulance and they took me to the hospital. x rays showed that the bone was indeed broken cleanly in half at the weak spot where the bone had been fused together in my last surgery to keep them straight. the doctor gave me numbing shots in my toes (the most painful part of the whole ordeal) and proceeded to reset the bone on top of itself, then stitched it closed.

i took alot of pictures and will post them as soon as i find out how to get them off my phone. but for now, im out of footbag for another few months. so disappointed. no rogue valley jam this weekend... sorry everyone. though i dont think many people were coming anyways. unless you just want to hang out and shred with yogan, which im sure hed be up for.

later modified.

I must be a bad person, because while reading about your horrible accident I laughed. ...you just sound so nonchalant about the whole thing.

I was a little worried that when I opened the page there would be horrible pictures, but then when they weren't there I was a little disappointed. Way to take pictures of your injuries, I do the same thing. Your parents must just love footbag, it has probably cost them thousands of dollars in medical bills by now. You are ridiculous.

Cale I am so sorry to hear that. It sounds horrible, im scared to see what the pictures are going to look like.

I thought was injury prone but you bring a whole new level to the term.

I really hope this does not discourage you from still playing. Your style was looking good, and it would be a real bummer if you stopped playing and we never got to kick again.

keep your head up, and toes for that matter!

-pdx whirl bs
-double down bs
-toe shuffle
-15ish contact guiltless
-bunch of swirls bs
- bunch of far swirls bs, best feeling flip ones ever
-pdx mirage>toe set swirl midstring bs
