first sess of the year with Seb

was fun to play after being sick for a week

Nothing crazy, but it was fun.

Pixie out of flip smog
pixie dbl switch midstring
stepping here and there, nothing crazy but it's advancing slowly as usual..

i got a membership at the gym next to my job

goal is to have at least 5 sessions a week at the gym to work on different concepts (1 hour per session per concept)

Today was 30 mins of warmup/shred and 30 mins of inspinning

I hit inspinning osis, kind of ugly, but managed to understand how to do inspins both sides, flip is slower tough.
I got close to both inspinning clippers several times, it's not too conplex after a good study of the trick and trying different techniques.

the shred part had some stepping in it, I realised how my flip step had my clipper too close to my leg, when it was a bit further the sets where really nicer and felt better, then I had ripwalk-sidewalk-rpt off the foot first try.

stepping ss clip midstring seems to get efficient now, ripwalks as well, it's getting better.

I suck at learning sets, so slow! But looking forward to master it still.

still.

That's nice you have a facility so accessible. Any advice on starting to learn inspinning?

for inspin, here is how I do it so far:

Set bag as high as a duck
after set, plant leg as soon as possible as inside as possible
lift support leg, turn as much as possible with use of arms and upper body, plant leg when finished
if you cant turn much, then do 2 more steps by turning and you should have finished

not sure if it's clear enough.

Today I hit the trick both sides, and footed it many times as well.

Also worked on spins out of whirls
got a run with whirl-spin both sides and pdx whirl-spin both sides, it was rewarding.
I had to finish the stall, and finish the set completely before spinning. Guess I always wanna go too fast!

playing by myself helps a lot to improve

today I hit ripwalk- stepping ss clip - rpt with perfect sets all in control, I was really happy

worked on some drills to help variety both sides, one I recall was dimwalk-pdx whirl-drifter-pdx mirage-rpt simple stuff but that is'nt as easy as it seems when you never tried.

worked a lot on flip paradon today, managed to hit it on a 60% ratio! even some simple drills with it :D

improved flip illusion today

got on the foot fudge-pixie ss illusion-rpt

pixie ss illusion b2b

blizzard bsos

a lot of steps, still not a crazy ratio for constancy, but it's getting less frustrating.

far bent knee clipper - blink

my gym fucked me, now there is less availability in the room I use for shred as there are classes.

So today I ran for 30 minutes waiting for the room, my legs where not in great shred condition after that! I think I will choose a better exercice next time :D

Highlights:
footed far bent knee clip - ss bent knee - rpt

work on flip illusions
on 3rd try : (pdx illusion - (illusion - ss illusion - rpt) ss clip )- rpt
I will do a lot more of this, my illusions are not good enough for harder tricks.

besides that, I don't recall what I worked on

I found that problems with illusions usually have to do with the strength of the dexing leg. I suggest just performing the dex with your leg as many times as you can until your hip is on fire. Focus on doing the dex properly and keeping your support leg perfectly still and balanced. You shouldn't be air shredding, it should just be the dexing motion.

Do this for at least 3 sets a day for a week or so and your dexing leg should get stronger, which leads to more accuracy and larger dexing windows.

Hope this helps!

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

2nd sess of the day:

Fog first try! and it was effortless, footbag is so much about timing, and boy do I need better timing.

It was a fun but short sess with Ianek, Jean-Martin and Seb

I messed around with a lot of illusions both sides, and sorta tried to step here and there

first sess with new units (black!)

was'nt too bad, consecutive sets and shuffle was off, but everything seemed to be doable with the shoes.

I'm happy to have the shoe that I like in black after so long

lot of work with steps

parkwalk - step legover -rpt

dimwalk - shmoe - rpt

worked on illusions for 30 mins
illusion - ss illusion - rpt - 3x illusion - 3x ss illusion - rpt

after that I hit pixie illusion - pixie ss illusion - rpt first try
a run with both gyro illusions and spin illusions

then worked on steps, fixed flip step ss mirage, so I hit step ss mirage - pixie ss clip - rpt

hit a lot of nice steps, flip will become strong with some more time, and strong will be known as crappy step. It's hard to improve it.

flip pdx whirls are getting better and less energy consuming.

fixed a small detail of flip step that gave big results.

for some reason, I was putting my weight on the little toe instead of the big toe.

This resulted in a very hard motion to step out of the clipper.

I changed it, and I hit :

Dimwalk - Blur - Rpt (hit this a long time ago)

Smear- Dimwalk - Blur - Rpt

Blur - Smear - Dimwalk - rpt

and then, 11 contacts of Smear - Dimwalk - Blur - Rpt (dropped on 12th contact, strong blur)

I'm really happy about this, and I look forward to be good at steps within a month or two (at least for basic 3 and 4`s!!!
