Track and Field
Track and Field
Does anybody here do or used to do track? If so what are/were your events and your personal best for that event. I'll start. Right now I'm a freshman and I run the 200 and I do high jump. My best for the 2 is about 27 (horrible I know) and 5'2" for the high jump. Its my first year doing track so I really don't have any experience or training in yet.

I used to do ok in the 1500m. I can't remember my best time though - mid to low 4 minutes sounds familiar but I might be getting confused. I enjoyed all track and field events but was too short and light to be good at most of them. I always used to be winning the 100m after the first 20 meters or so and then come last. My best time is 12.94 I think - definitely just under 13 seconds anyway. My best time for 10km is just over 37 minutes I think, which is pretty good but that wasn't in a competition, just training for touch footy and we were running 4 or 5 nights a week for a few months.
Lynton Stephens was a champion long jumper or high jumper or something and you can really tell watching him play.

I did track sophmore year. At first, because of my height, the coach though I'd do really well at long/triple/high jump, but I ended up doing fairly well in my first 400. I think my fastest 400 was like 53 seconds give or take, which wasn't bad for my first year as a runner.
The coach wanted me to do cross country the year after, but I didn't even go on to do track the following year (let alone cross country) in order to play more footbag. He was kind of angry about that. Now it's really awkward walking past him in the halls at school. But that's a different story.
