Video Streams (No Video)

Post by Ian Brill »

How do people feel about consolidating all of these Video Stream threads together?

Especially now, as these are increasing in popularity, I feel that it would be more organized and allow more active movie links to be visible at a given time on the first page.

I would like to hear everyone's opinion.

I also understand that some users have very active threads, such as Cale and Kyle, and if it was their preference perhaps existing threads could remain.

I suppose what I am proposing is that we create a practice of putting new user video streams in one place and encourage existing ones to conolidate their existing ones here as well.

Let me know what you think. Another option, should this popularity continue to grow, may be a separate forum. However, for now I personally feel a specific thread would help out considerably, as for the last week the top portion of the video sections has been become increasingly dry of active links.

Personally, I would love to see a single topic for UStreams, ideally with a calendar in the top post where people can sign up ahead of time for when they will UStream. I don't know how realistic that is, but it'd be nice. I feel like I miss out on a lot of the streams because they are announced at the last second, and I only read about them after the fact.

Personally I would like to not only see a calendar, but somehow have the video streams recorded and uploaded to YouTube or some other media site so we can re-watch the streams.
Go out and shred already.

I just started using google calendars this semester and it seems like it might be useful for posting ustreams. It would be possible to create a shared calendar that people could add post their own ustream times to. Check it out:

Also, when people finish UStreaming, it would be nice if they change their thread title to "done broadcasting" or "offline" or whatever. Nothing worse than seeing a UStream thread which appears live, only to find out it ended 12 hours ago.

Thanks to the mod that added "No Video" to this thread. Whoops!
