a jam in toronto - HQ download link!

Post by mc »

from Anssi's visit.

It's a lot easier to read the texts at the bottom if you click the video (which brings you to youtube) and then click "Watch in High Quality". So, if you feel like you're missing something, or you just want to see the video looking a lot nicer, give that a try.

this is my first video, so constructive crits are definitely welcomed, with the caveat that I don't really care about making fancy videos, so I probably won't take 90% of the advice I receive.

enjoy!

edit: fixed, thanks KB

Great video. I usually don't have the patience to sit through 10 minute videos, but with this one I was actually able to enjoy every minute of it.

i left modified, having read all my unread posts, and headed to youtube. i searched footbag, and found this video. i went back to modified to ask you to put it on footbag.org, and wham... its here.

no offense to damian.... but how is jorden not the world champ? im saying it right now... he will be in berlin.

EDIT: finished watching the video.... anssi is the shit.

anyways... matt, can you make a download link?

loved the breakfast scene... something about jay fondling a footbag and pancakes is strangely complimentary.

I don't know about your world, cale, but jorden's been world champ in my world for a few years now ;)

hopefully we can see that reconciled with reality this summer...

ps: in case anyone can't tell from that first watch, johnny hits rubberman with alpine blurs > rubberman with skullsmashers > ALMOST rubberman with alpine legbeaters, and he made us all flip out. it was unreal.

Ha, nice video Matt :) Somehow the time just flew, I didn't realize it was 10 minutes long. Anssi is such a god. So is the Destroyer. So is Suderman.

I liked the raw music too, and the personal commentary left in. Subtitles were a good personal touch.

Jay should probably be sedated and restrained whenever he watches elite level shred. It'd be safer for everyone in the room.

Enjoyed this very much. Thanks for live sounds.

Thanks so much for that Matt.
I also liked the intros to everyone.
Some highlights for me were:
You saying "wow" to almost every one of Anssi's runs :P Me saying "Oooohh" in synch with you to his furious barrage, and obviously his genesis > fury combo. My other favourite shred was that long run of Jay's. He's got so much energy.

Oh, I also second the request for a download link. I'd watch this one a bunch.

Thanks for the video Matt. Brings back memories, for example how big beakfasts are on the other side of the Planet.

The subtitles were a really nice addition.

And the combo (Adam requested it) is Genesis > Blazing Mirage (not Fury).

there's no spin implied when I use the term monstrous.

if he had set from clipper instead of "inside, but from the clipper spot", the move would be bigwalk.

monstrous ripwalk would be like "inside quantum butterfly" to me.

I'm glad everyone likes the video so far! i just threw it together yesterday morning. I like it too.

As for a download link, I'm going to ask Darryl if I can host it on freedom.

Guys, just go to http://www.keepvid.com and paste the video URL
"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plvobtOW2N0" in the address bar. Then download either low or high quality version. :P

Matt: In Jorden´s End session is ripwalk monster and the trick witch he hit here is reverse of the ripwalk moster so it can´t be monsterous bigwalk :P

My answer to the monster/inside big/ripwalk debate:

Names don't matter.

Take the move in the video for what it is. To be honest, I don't know how to define it absolutely. Our notation system isn't advanced enough to accommodate fringe moves.

Pursue moves for how they look, or how they feel to you. Not for what they're called.

As a sport we're obsessed with categorizing things. It took me a while but I now disagree with this. I think our goal as freestylers should be to transcend beyond definable movements; to create a visual stream of thought/consciousness.

When you look at a painting, is it the names of the brush strokes you remember, or how it makes you feel?
Which is most important?

Perhaps our priorities could use a change.
