Copper Plated Lead Shot?

Has anyone used copper plated lead shot as filler before? I'm wondering if it will play like lead or like steel/ zince plated steel shot and how the density would compare to another filler (preferable zinc plated steel.. that's what I currently use). If anyone can provide any information it would be greatly appreciated.

Lead is denser than steel.

Copper plating is different than zinc plating. Copper flakes and can damage bags from the inside out, from what I believe, while the zinc plating on zinc plated steel is more like a powder coating.

I'll ask a question myself, for anyone to answer: what type of lead is the best to use on footbags? I really like the lead that's used on Fletcher Funk bags, and I assume it's the type that doesn't leave a lot of residue. This is the type of lead I'm looking for, but I have no clue where to shop for it.

I use Copper Plated Lead and haven't seen any harmful affects from the flakes. Though when hand massaging your hand does get covered in the flakes, but I don't believe that it does any harm to the inside of the bag.

Is it the zinc or copper thats responsible for the 'grey water" that come out of some bags when you wash them??

Most of it is from the dirt and grime from a session, but I would say if you have a lead bag more grey water would seep out than any other filler, tungsten would come second and steel third.

edit: I'm going to correct myself here. Tungsten spews out more grey water than any other filler I've seen. Lead comes second and steel a distant third.

They grey water is mostly lead coming off the shot when you wash, adam.

I personally use lead in my bags.

I hope copper plated lead doesn't damage the bags because I bought 10lbs of the stuff. It does flake off but I think washing the bag a few times gets rid of most of the flakes. But I don't see how the flakes would be any worse than sand or grit.

i wouldnt worry too much

the 5th bag i made still has no holes, is used all the time, and had copper plated led in it!!! and the material is weaker than facile!!!
