I was in Hawaii about two weeks ago (not Maui, but Oahu) and there were only three guys who kicked there, and none of them knew what any tricks were. They all played barefoot and had some decent skill, so I taught them some stuff. That being said, it was one of the best experiences that I had on the island. They also said that no one really plays on any of the Islands out there.
